David McK (3562 KP) rated Tarnished Knight (The Lost Stars, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
Spin-off from The Lost Fleet series, with this taking place after the events off/concurrently with those of [b:The Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier Dreadnaught|9676849|The Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier Dreadnaught (The Lost Fleet Beyond the Frontier, #1)|Jack Campbell|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1388524088s/9676849.jpg|14564728] (and it's sequels).
Following the defeat of the Syndicate Worlds at the hands of 'Black Jack' Geary, more and more former Syndicate Worlds are rising up against their old masters - this novel concentrating on one such world, that of Midway.
However, neither former CEOs Artur Drakon or Gwen Iceni are sure if they can trust the other ...
As a spin-off, this introduces almost-entirely new characters, along with some mentioned in passing, or who have had a small role in previous novels. It also makes occasional reference to those earlier novels - particularly to 'Black Jack' Geary himself and some of his actions, even though he is entirely absent from the story.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated My Cousin Rachel (2017) in Movies
Jun 21, 2017
As a bold, beautifully photographed examination of desire and madness, Mitchell’s My Cousin Rachel is a dutiful, worthwhile adaptation, even beyond its lumpy pacing and mostly straightforward story mechanics.

Metal as it's meant to be.
Master of Puppets is thrash metal honed to perfection. Pushing beyond speed and riffs into prog and flamenco, showing how far and how soon Metallica would outstrip the rest of thrash's Big Four.

Bohan Reviews (215 KP) rated Halloween (2018) in Movies
May 7, 2019
It was entertaining, and it had enough scares and tension beyond the common jump-scare that it wasn’t a total failure, but if you want to see a good horror film, this isn’t it.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Kiss & Tell in Books
Jun 8, 2018
These are my go to "I need a laugh right now" books. I have yet to be disappointed. Where Bennett and Gardner come up with their wild characters and scenarios is beyond me. They are comic geniuses! I really can not recommend them enough.
