"“Time present and time past/ Are both perhaps present in time future/ And time future contained in time past./ If all time is eternally present/ All time is unredeemable.” I have not read the rest of this little book beyond these first two sentences. The ever-living now: live it fully and awake."

"I saw Flowers for the first time during grad school in the early 1990s, and Rossellini’s deceptively simple depiction of grace and faith has never left me. I always wanted to see it again, so I was beyond thrilled when I found out that Criterion was releasing it. Hands down my favorite Rossellini."

"A landowner who must move his horses across another man’s property gets into a minor altercation. The hassle which would seem to be easy enough to settle escalates beyond the possibility of repair. We read on with a horrified recognition: This is how one set of humans gets into war with another."

A Sensory Overload
I watched this at my local indie cinema last year, and I came out completely stunned. I was shocked, disturbed... and euphoric. Every single second of this outstanding movie grabs hold of your senses, and twists them beyond anything you’ve experienced before. Brutal but brilliant, with a soundtrack to die for.
