Smart, funny, stylish & just a little bit bonkers
I’m beyond surprised that a show like this has come out of the BBC. It’s darkly and laugh out loud funny, and so ridiculously smart and stylish. Jodie Comer is absolutely phenomenal as Villanelle, she’s wondrously funny and plays a psychopath worryingly well. Her accents are brilliant, and I was shocked to see of all places that she’s from Liverpool. And Sandra Oh is surprisingly charismatic too.
The series starts off very strongly and the first few episodes are fantastic, however I did think it got a little bit strange and maybe a little too serious as the episodes moved along. Whilst this isn’t a huge problem, I did think it lost some of the magic from earlier in the series. I’d be intrigued to see how the second series pans out.

no, the Butler didn't do it!
For some reason (OK, he's been paid to do so), Ammon Shea decides to read the Oxford English Dictionary. Why anyone would want to do so is beyond me, but he seems quite thrilled by the prospect. This book detials his experiences of doing so, with one chapter per letter (most of which is taken up with him trying to fond somewhere to actually read it).
The real reason anyone would read this work, of course, is not for that part of the chapter, but rather for the last part of each, in which he produces some little-known words and gives his own definition of what they mean.
I've read it, it's OK, but I won't be looking to read this again or to read the OED myself anytime soon.

Book #5 in the 'Beyond the Frontier' sub-set of the 'The Lost Fleet' series of books (so book # 11 if read in order, or roughly #14 if you include 'The Lost Stars' spin-off series), in which 'Black Jack' Geary is in pursuit of rogue AI ships, created by how own government, which have since malfunctioned and attacked Alliance ships.
Unlike the previous in the series ([b: Steadfast|17230200|Steadfast (Spellcaster, #2)|Claudia Gray|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1372091229s/17230200.jpg|23745045]), the majority of this is given over to (numerous) and relativistic space-time battles, instead of to the politicking of before. Freddie Highmore could not of picked a better norman bates, honestly think he is better than originals. (3 more)
Vera Farmiga. I'm not her greatest fan but in this she is beyond Brilliant. Her and Freddie work so well together.
Last 2 seasons oh my lord, I dont think my gob shut from shock!! No spoilers dont panic but when you watch it you will see.

A must watch even if you have never seen psycho!! This is a prior to psycho! Freddie Highmore is fantastic in this, he's stronger in each episode. The writing & production team couldn't of chosen anyone better for the role!

I am normally an admirer of David Cronenberg’s work. His films have always at least been interesting even when they were downright strange..up until now . He really dropped the ball here , there’s no other way to say it but this is one pretentious pile of shit. The plot makes no sense whatsoever and solely consists of a billionaire on his way to get a haircut having random encounters with strangers and spouting a load of philosophical existential musings at the expense of a coherent narrative and dialogue. Robert Pattinson is terrible here as well , blank ,emotionless and unlikeable. Perhaps he didn’t know what was going on either. For me the films worst crime is it’s a David Cronenberg film . It’s beyond disappointing seeing the master of weird and wonderful put his name to something as soul destroyingly boring as this cinematic abortion.
