saheffernan (157 KP) rated How We Became Wicked in Books
Nov 9, 2019
If you want a spooky book recommendation this is it. I got thriller, Halloween vibes from this book from the start. A disease has consumed most of the world leaving behind 3 types of people. The wicked, the true and the vexed. The wicked are something a little like zombies in the book their described like children with no impulse control and a want to kill. Astrid, a vexed young girl curious about the world & the only other young person in her community Henry is who we mostly follow throughout the story as they try to figure out what's beyond their world of Goldsport. I can say that I definitely didn't see the twist coming. It was a good book with a decent storyline maybe a bit lacking here and there mostly of how the disease came about. Quick read with a Walking Dead world full of wicked people and survival feel.

Ticked all of my boxes - superb
I don't know if this is more of a "boys' film" in terms of themes, or just because of the main characters, but my son and I loved this film, my wife and daughter were slightly disappointed.
The film takes place in a world much like our own where magic has faded into myth and technology taken over. It sees two fatherless elf brothers suddenly in possession of a magical staff and clues to how to bring their father back from beyond the grave for a day.
The boys set off on a quest and grow to love each other again, shedding their differences and appreciating each other again.
The film is funny, touching, thought-provoking and exciting. The makers have nailed an exciting animated film with all the feels and none of the cringe. I would happily go and see this again and probably will do!

A great begginer game
This worker replacement game is a very good games to start with for anyone who has never played tabletop games before. The strategy for this game is minimal, it is always good to have some kind of strategy, however other players moves may change your strategy for you in this game, but its effects are not very harsh. There is always another option in this game especially the further into the game you get as more placements will be available. However worker placement is the main mechanic in this game set collection is also a mechanic which is really important in this game. Collecting your pieces are almost just as important as placing your workers. Even though it is generally considered a beginner's introductory game I find this game to be a great go to for myself even though I am beyond beginner level. This is a great game for beginner intermediate to expert and family all different groups enjoy this game.
