"Pasolini’s movies leave my brain black and blue, but this one in particular. A mother’s love may be infinite but its effect on a child’s reality is limited, and this movie shows that all too well . . ."

I was really apprehensive about reading this graphic novel as I have heard mixed things. The artwork is beautiful consisting of black, white, blue and red. The stories could have been better, they were definitely creepy and unique but just didn't leave me satisfied

DNF @ 20%.

I'm finally giving it up. I put it on hold about a month ago and had a go at reading more of it last night and within three kindle pages, I'd exited the book again.

I had no idea what the hell was happening in this friggin book! She wakes up in a strange house, black and blue, scared of the guy who did this to her and within the first fifth of the book she's willingly sleeping with him and giving him BJ's? I didn't get it at all!

I know it's not a dark romance, which is a pity because apart from the black and blue thing, it would have been right up my street. It was far too psychological for my liking and I just didn't understand it. AT ALL!

Really not for me.

Intimidation and Corruption
Dark Blue- is a good crime thriller.

The plot: Set in the Los Angeles Police Department in 1992, "Dark Blue" is a thriller that takes place just days before the acquittal of four white officers in the beating of black motorist Rodney King and the subsequent L.A. riots. In this racially charged climate, the LAPD's elite Special Investigations Squad is assigned a quadruple homicide. As they work the case, detective Eldon (Kurt Russell), tutors SIS rookie Bobby (Scott Speedman) in the realities of police intimidation and corruption.

I would highly recordmed watching it.

Black Swan (2010)
2010 | Horror, Thriller
I rewatched this movie for the first time since it came out in theaters. Once again, I was struck by the way Darren Aronofsky twists your mind around when telling a story. In a way, Black Swan reminded me of the Satoshi Kon film “Perfect Blue,” inasmuch as you, the audience is unsure of what is real, and how much is the result of our unstable protagonist, Nina.

In many ways, Nina’s story mirrors that of Swan Lake, except all the characters are parts of herself. Repressed by an overbearing mother and sexually frustrated, she embodies the white swan—and it’s only by releasing her sexual self, the black swan, that she can truly be free.

Crossovers
Marvel worthy?... Definitely
I found this movie interesting to watch. The plot line I found to be less like a typical marvel film however had all elements- battles, individual character development, crossovers between storyline... It stood out however due to the location and area that the black panther is from. It is slightly pushed on realistic boundaries to have such a developed community unknown to the best of the best for years only to appear out of the blue in previous movies. I think the movie has good acting also and holds potential for future plots and movies.

"Another of my favourite bands, and they also went through a key singer change [Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di'Anno from this album onwards]. It also features two personal heroes of mine, [guitarists] Dave Murray and Adrian Smith, who go through a change and continue to make great music. I was a fan of Paul Di'Anno too, but that particular record where Bruce comes in, that's another one I'd say is perfect, from top to bottom. There's always that myth... that darker element, I guess, to rock & roll. I don't necessarily see it as dark. I'd say it's more human. In context of a more rigid, uptight society, rock n' roll has always been about pushing the boundaries of ...maybe what's just a little bit more natural to human beings...[laughs] A band I really fucking dug, and emulated quite a bit for a good chunk of time when I was learning how to play guitar. Like I said I was always into dual guitar bands and Maiden were great for that. Bruce actually interviewed us when Black Gives Way To Blue came out. He said one of the greatest things about it, he said: ""Black Gives Way To Blue: Have a listen! If you haven't, you're just stupid!"" [laughs]"
