If you saw the 2nd film then you know what to fear in this 3rd installment. As with most direct to DVD low budget horror sequels, expect bad acting, more gore and nudity. This cast line up does have a few familiar faces in it but the acting is pretty hammy.
The cgi effects for the crocs and blood is really poor. Despite all that it probably just about surpasses the 2nd film, at least the story line this time has a bit more action. One for the low budget horror fans to laugh at!

Ten year old Marty loves his brother Steve. But Steve has been acting very weird recently and Marty is about to reveal the shocking truth as to why...
Written from the perspective of Marty this is a well written and gruesome little novel of how situations can quickly escalate and spiral out of control. Fast paced, the darkest of humour and plenty of blood and gore keep this twisted story going at full pelt for its brief 137pages. Highly recommended for those that have a strong disposition and cast iron gut!

No blood! No violence! No gore! They are only toys after all... Embrace the nostalgia of playing...
I haven't read anything by Ronald Malfi before and I do enjoy a good horror story every now and again and I'm pleased I did because out of the 5 short stories, there was only 1 I didn't particularly enjoy and that was The Separation but the other 4 more than made up for it.
Well written, great characters, a plethora of general creepiness, blood and gore ... what more could you want?
Mr Malfi is definitely an author I will look out for in the future and thank you to NetGalley and Titan Books for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of They Lurk.

Expected more
Finally, after hearing about this movie from many websites & many online lists & such, I was able to see it for the first time, tonight. I was expecting a lot of blood & gore & a great revenge move. There was some gore, but not much & the revenge was just meh. It did not live up to the hype. A girl gets brutally raped by 4 men & then gets revenge on them. Yes, we've seen it before & better in films like "The Last House on the Left" & such. The rapists in this movie are very stupid & are easily fooled by the woman and they get there's. But I never felt they got it bad enough for their crime. The movie is very low budget looking, yet cost $650,000 somehow. The make-up effects were terrible. The supposed bruises on the actor's faces look like some rubbed some charcoal on them. The acting is not bad & may be better than "Last House", but it doesn't make up for the lackluster plot. I'm glad I finally saw this, knowing I won't have to see it again.

Brilliant film!
Where do I start, I personally don't have a problem with low budget films, especially qwerky comedy/horror's like this one. It all started when a young man stayed awake to see what his babysitter got upto whilst he sleeps, turns out the hot fun babysitter called Bee (better known as samara weaving who played a brilliant rill in the comedy horror ready or not!) is part of a blood cult, a deal with the devil and tries to perform a ritual but this scared kid reeks havoc as he tried to escape them because no one is to know what happened that night.
With this well made film, 2 years later it goes back to see how his life is now since then, no. 2 offers good twists and I was happy to see they used all the same actors! In this sequel there is plenty of blood gore and comedy to keep you entertained. Definitely one to watch if you enjoyed the first one this will not disappoint.

Not as bad as it sounds
I watched this many years ago and could remember nothing about it, so decided to give it a go again as I noticed it on Amazon. It's not the best film, but is vaguely promising and not as bad as it sounds.
This is a horror film that decides to forego any traditional scares and creeps and just go for full on gore. This mostly works as some of the blood and gore in this is brilliant, however it is spoilt a little by some pretty poor CGI. If they had left out this CGI and some wannabe 3D moments then I might have rated this a tiny bit higher, as the CGI really is that bad. It's a rather basic plot but effective and I've always had a soft spot for Bradley Coooper. Vinnie Jones is alright and vaguely menacing although personally I think they could've found someone slightly more threatening. I'm rather glad that he barely opened his mouth for the entire film, as his accent definitely would've spoilt things!
Overall this is a fairly decent watchable horror, and much better than some of the more recent jump scares based ones.

Camp stalk and slash with a twist
Tonight's viewing was this little gem with a really cool new premise. Guy wakes up covered in blood surrounded by dead camp counsellors and with the help of his horror geek friend periodically pieces together the events of the night and slowly realises that he might have actually caused the deaths. Really great idea and some really good gory deaths including one chopped in half head and possibly one of the best horror movie masks ever. Had some pacing issues and my attention started to drift about two thirds in but came together with a good ending. So all in all well worth a watch.
