"Speaking of snake-ish charmers, enter a young Bob Dylan in D. A. Pennebaker’s 1967 Dont Look Back. This may be a documentary, but don’t think for one moment that Dylan isn’t brilliantly putting on a performance as PYT (pretty young thing) “Bobby Dylan, the brilliant folksinger.” And while it’s not to my credit that I could never wrap my mind around folk music, even I am not immune from the oodles of bratty charm that Dylan exudes here."

"I like Bob Dylan when he’s funny. He’s got a great sense of humor and this song in particular is one of my favorites. Helps to laugh, maybe this will make you smile."

"An alternative Bible for UFO believers that mixed tales of Jesus with stories of alien visitations. Jimi carried this book with him everywhere – along with his Bob Dylan songbook – and told friends he had learned much from its pages"

"When I was making 19, my manager suggested I cover a Bob Dylan song, Make You Feel My Love. I didn’t really know much about Dylan at the time, but I suddenly got interested, got into his back history – and that’s how I found Karen Dalton. She used to open for Dylan back in the day in Greenwich Village. There’s not a lot of her music out there, she died quite young. But her voice! Something haunting there, even eerie. The tone is amazing – it reminded me a lot of Amy Winehouse. They both have almost a slur in their voice, which is so charismatic."

Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese (2019)
Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese (2019)
2019 | Documentary, Music

"Sitting in a house with her guitar, in a huddle with Bob Dylan and Roger McGuinn, Joni Mitchell shows the guys chords to a new song called “Coyote,” just before diving into it, in a vivid moment in “Rolling Thunder Revue.” It’s one sustained shot, handheld, and yet it feels like watching something great being born. The richness of Mitchell’s road-hardened writing weaves with her shimmering voice and guitar. Watching Dylan’s chagrined face, listening to, watching Joni, took us back to a kindred moment in the late, great D.A. Pennebaker’s classic “Don’t Look Back,” as Dylan sings “It’s All Over Now Baby Blue” while Donovan takes it in. But this time Dylan is the humbled one."
