Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Shelter Dogs in a Photo Booth in Books
Jul 10, 2018
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really cute book but it felt like it was missing something. The pictures were very solid and adorable. Guinnevere Shuster definitely has a talent for photography. My main issue with this book was the writing. The descriptions were all over the place and I wasn't too impressed. Some of the descriptions were in past tense and some in present.
I loved the photos but the text was not my favorite.
Ultimately, if you want a book that is full of completely adorable dogs, this is the book for you!

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Life in the Sloth Lane: Slow Down and Smell the Hibiscus in Books
Jul 12, 2018
I received this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was just what I was needing. I have been reading many dark and depressing novels so when I had a chance to read this book, I knew it was fate. Life in the Sloth Lane is a book that has adorable sloths and some good inspirational quotes. It was almost like I wasmeditating when I was reading. It calmed me down, made me smile and I even learned new facts about sloths.
If you enjoy sloths, need some time just to breathe, and like learning something new, this is the book for you. Seriously, it is adorable.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Lessons From Lucy: The Simple Joys of an Old, Happy Dog in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I've been a fan of Dave Barry for most of my life and have turned to his works in times of trouble. When I saw this book on Netgalley I was thrilled. This book is fantastic.
Dave Barry has a great way of writing to you not at you. It's oddly personal considering the whole syndicated column thing.
The last part about Sophie's illness is a real tear-jerker.

Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Oh, i loved this book. It was so much fun! Basically, a b&b is home to a ghost, some magical sleauthing kitties, and the humans lucky enough to be owned by them. The cats and humans are working separately to solve the case of a man buried behind a wall centuries ago and his buried treasure. This book is precious and i loved reading every minute.
A great collection of of mysterious ladies!
This book was a fun read, all the stories flowed well and they were full of unique ladies with a dash of mystery tossed in. Michelle Griep really takes you all over the world in these stories, I loved it. I would definitely add this book to your reading list this summer.

I received a copy of Dutch Girl from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. It's not just a biography of Audrey Hepburn but a biography of the time and place that made her who she was.
Robert Matzen does a stunning job of bring Audrey to life.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Adulthood is a Myth: A Sarah's Scribbles Collection in Books
Jul 10, 2018
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is hilarious! The illustrations are quirky and fun. I have seen some of these comic strips around facebook but I'm glad they're all in a little tiny book for me to enjoy. I personally loved all of the bookworm comic stips & the introvert ones too.
I think this book deals with some issues that many of us "adults" have. It was done in a fun, quirky, and hilarious way. If you're looking for something to relate to, this is it! Seriously, you won't be disappointed.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This book is so much fun!
The mc Sadie gets embroiled in winter activities and murder when a snooty homegrown chef takes an ice pick to the chest.
Pretty much everyone who met the dingus chef had a reason to want him dead so Sadie has her hands full when a friend us fingered as a suspect.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Laughter at the Academy in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
In every anthology I've read, there have been at least two stories I did not care for.
This is not the case with Laughter at the Academy.
Military mermaids, lonely dolls, and vengeful geniuses are a few of the friends you'll meet on this wild trip of a book and it is definitely worth the ride!

I really enjoyed this book. It's a great little story from beginning to end, and it was really fun seeing how everything went from time period to time period. I liked having all the different characters as that really kept me invested in the story.
