Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sci-fi novel with a very interesting premise: Most of the universe is made up of several large-scale experiments, trying to determine the theory of evolution as it applies to "preintelloids," as they are referred to. How fast does this happen? What is the process by which that last jump occurs to full-scale intelligence as they see it? And how can it be scientifically controlled in such a way so as not to interfere?

The book bounces back and forth between those controlling the experiment and those who are actually pieces of it, and it's a great way to see the differences between the two groups. The aliens are incredibly scientific in how they approach everything, and everyone else is just going about their business, considering they have no idea about the big picture involved. However, when things advance at a rate that was unexpected beforehand, those in charge have to figure out how to handle the situation and whether or not it's worth it to continue and see where the subjects go from there.

This story is very thought-provoking, and it really makes you ask: What if this is true? What if all we are is a giant petri dish for an alien race? And what happens if we're considered an unsuccessful experiment?

This storyline is far from the ordinary of what I normally read, but I found myself nodding along with the different theories given, saying, "You know, that makes a little sense." I even found myself sharing a few of them with my husband, who is really into astronomy and the exploration of the cosmos. I liked how everything played out over the course of the plot, and how there were different twists that jumped out for certain characters that I was definitely not expecting. Just the general idea behind what's going on with Earth and what might possibly happen was very intriguing, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

The reason I dropped my review from 5 stars was because of all the grammatical errors. I don't recall ever seeing "you're" used correctly; instead, no matter the context, it was always "your," and that got really aggravating. The same goes for "their/there/they're" and "here/hear," and possibly some others that I'm forgetting. I'm not the type of person to read through a book with a red pen, but there were just so many instances that it was really hard to ignore. However, the story was very good, it definitely pulled me in, and I'll be waiting for the next one (and hoping the editing is better).

Many thanks to the publisher for providing me with an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was a little dubious reading this little serial as I've not read anything by the author before and I generally don't read 5 star reviews because of personal choices.

Going into Untamed I was pleasantly surprised by the way it was written. I had expected it to be a quick serial number with little going on and a quick steamy sex scene but there was plenty happening in this serial.

Dr Cari Dunn is a celebrity architect with a stalker. A pretty crazy stalker as stalkers are want to be. The network she does a TV show for hires a bodyguard to protect her - queue Jasper. A sinfully hot male with an alpha streak - just how I like my males!

As it's a pretty short price of writing everything meshes together nicely with a wickedly good sex scene and a great cliffhanger that leaves the series open for the next instalment which is released a week after this one.

I think the one big thing that put me off a bit was the mention of Christian Grey. Those are two words that will put me off any book but thankfully he was only mentioned once in passing.

We'll see where the next part takes us in this ride.
