Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated The Field Guide to Dumb Birds of North America in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I found this book to be a delightful mix of snark and knowlege. The drawings are wonderful.
The book includes maps of migratory patterns and a section on extinct birds.
Would definitely recommend as vacation reading for a trip to Bodega Bay.

This is excellent satire. I'm sure there will be people very offended by it.
Oh well.
Having worked in retail (even though this book seems to pertain to office work) I can tell you that there's an uncomfortable amount of truth in this book.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked everything in this book except the main character Sammy.
The writing is great as is the mystery but Sammy just rubbed me the wrong way with her willingness to obstruct justice.

This second book in the series is so good! I knew it was part of a series but this one stands alone just fine!
There are some nicely creepy moments and I really liked Nathalie.

This one didn't really grab me after the Mayor's body was discovered.
It seemed to drag in a lot of places.

This is a collection of 15 short writings by John Scalzi, some touching and some laugh out loud funny, but always delightfully fantastical.
