You get a bit of a spiritual in the story as well. We learn about Magpies somewhat in the book. We also go on a quest with Samantha O’Malley. We meet Craig and her old lover. She goes back to her teaching career.
What discoveries will Samantha and Craig find by working together and with her students? Nancy writing is done well. I have not been into a book that felt so real. I feel the book show us what it likes somewhat of our world. Is our world what we think or is it an illusion? I start to wonder this and if we are just experiencing it as humans.

I WANT YOU TO KNOW THREE THINGS:
1. The police are looking to charge me with murder.
2. No one knows who I am. Or how I did it.
3. If you think you've found me. I'm coming for you next.
After you've read this book, you'll know: the truth is far more twisted...
When Maria Cooper accidentally uncovers one of her husband Pauls secrets she enlists her lover Daryl in a plot to get even.
This book is full of suspense and intrigue with lots of twists and turns.
Just when you think you've got it worked out there's another revelation that blows your theory away.
The characterization is excellent, the storytelling first class and the final reveal is kept for the very last page.
Can't wait to see what Steve Cavanagh comes up with next; definitely a book I would recommend reading.
Thanks a lot to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Leah Lopez (7 KP) rated Dog Soldiers: Love, Loyalty and Sacrifice on the Front Line in Books

Isabel George, author of Buster: The dog who saved a thousand lives, is clearly an animal lover herself and has much respect for the dogs in British/American forces. (Despite the high percentage of those who disapprove in America), Isabel George has an understanding-given her long history of books-for dogs/handlers and her natural attitude is clearly felt. Dog Soldiers merits the strong bond between a dog soldier and dog handler...how their bond is firmly glued and cannot be unsealed. I am not going to talk about the book itself because I wish for readers to pick this book up with a fresh mind rather than me going into detail of what this book entails.
Nonetheless, I cried many tears...!
Much love to the families
