I read Beach Read last year and I did enjoy it but it didn't blow me away, this one, however... WOW! That's all I can say. A book about travel was always going to be right up my street but a slowburn friends to lovers story about travel. I was positively OBSESSED! The relationship between these two characters was so raw and honest and you were truly rooting for them from the very beginning. I related so hard to the character of Poppy too, like way too hard, there were moments when I genuinely thought that Emily Henry had been spying on me with how accurate some of these seemingly random character traits were to my life and I loved exploring the world through her eyes. I also think Alex Nilsen may be the new literary love of my life. I'm just so so so in love with this story and I probably shouldn't be typing this at midnight but that's when you get my most honest thoughts. I just have so much love for this book and I can already see it being one of my favourites of the year!

This is a real friends-to-lovers story, complete with hidden feelings on one side. However, what made this story exceptional to me is the way in which it is written and the believable, likeable characters that Megan Linden gives us. Told from dual points of view, you hear from both Tyler and Kevin as they realise how deep their feelings for each other are, and what this means as one is an Alpha's Son, whilst the other is a lone wolf.
I loved how it was Mom B, the Beta, who spoke to Kevin and gave him the reassurance he needed. It wasn't just swept under the carpet in a "love conquers all" way. No, he was told that loving a Harrington was tough, but it was worth it!
This novella has it all - friendship, romance, it has some hot scenes without being gratuitous, and it has definitely left me wanting more. Absolutely adored this book and I'm looking forward to returning to Harrington Hills as soon as I can. Highly recommended.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Merissa (12051 KP) rated Alpha (Blood Moon, Texas Shifters #4) in Books
Oct 4, 2022
ALPHA is the fourth book in the Blood Moon, Texas Shifters series and London and Brody get their time to shine. I definitely recommend you read this in order as the overall story arc goes from book one and I feel you would miss out on some of the finer details if you don't.
Brody and London are both Alphas of their packs, and an archaic law says two alphas can't be mated. So both of them act as though it's just a bit of fun when everyone else knows it's not. As their relationship as friends and lovers is already long established, you don't get a lot in the way of their relationship changing or growing.
The overall arc moves along at a fair rate of knots in this edition, almost overshadowing the story between Brody and London in places. All of it was important and relevant, mind you. I just felt as though Brody and London's personal connection got lost in the mix even though they were the key players in the story.
A great addition to the series and I definitely recommend it, on the proviso that you read the others first!

Milleen (47 KP) rated Never Greener in Books
Nov 14, 2018
The much-anticipated debut novel by the very talented scriptwriter and actress Ruth Jones (Nessa from Gavin and Stacey) has had mixed reviews from critics but I think I know why. This novel doesnÕt have the quirkiness or levity that youÕd expect from JonesÕ TV work, although it originated from an abandoned TV script she rediscovered. This work delves into affairs and consequences and therefore itÕs a little more pensive. Ex-lovers Kate and Callum meet after seventeen years and consider walking away or taking a second chance to find out if the grass is greener. The two protagonists are not exactly likeable, I found myself wanting to know less about them and more about others. I enjoyed the book but forget any notion of Nessa, Ruth Jones has a voice of her own.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved all three of the books in this box set!
The men: Cade, Noah, and Grant are all alpha (dragon) males, and I loved them all. Cade was my favorite. He is very protective and exciting. The women: Hope, Claire, and Freya are all independent women. My favorite was Hope. Maybe because her story is with Cade!
Ridley did a great job on character and world-building. All three books flowed together well, and it was easy to fall into reading and envision her words.
I would recommend this box set to paranormal lovers. Especially if you love dragon shifters! All in all, these books are exciting and worth the read.
