My July 2023 reads!

12 reads this month it’s been a really quiet one for me I’ve just struggled to read

My favourite book of the month is Secrets, Lies & Sacrifice by Ben Andrews I was really lucky to get an ARC of this book the author sent me the 1st in the series to read to. I loved both Secrets, Lies & Revenge is book one and got 4 ⭐️. Really can’t wait to read the next one.

Also The Mark by Lee Mountford was so good I absolutely pooped myself reading it lol

My least favourite is Boogeyman Booty call by Harpe Alexa although I did giggle at how silly it was.

My DNFS were not as high this month I just couldn’t get on with the 2 and I’m a great believer in not reading something just for the sake of it.

I read the first book in this series last month, after being an avid fan of the Tortall series for years, and I fell in love with the characters. All four of the main characters are sweet, interesting, unique, and fun. I really appreciate how Tamora Peirce made them so distinct from each other and balanced their own tragic backstories with their strength, humor, and adorableness. I would not be surprised if this is not the only book from this series I read this month. Wonderfully fun tale of magic and adventures.

So this month I’ve read 18 and DNFD 1 I’ve read some really good books this month!

I had a huge 7 5⭐️’s this month! My absolute favourite was House of Blood and Earth I cried buckets and got so invested in the book!
One of my 5⭐️’s was #fromabox The Silver road was just so good and I highly recommend it!

Jessie Keane and Peter McKeirnon are fast becoming two of my favourite authors and you couldn’t get two books further apart lol.

My DNF this month was an indie book and I just couldn’t get along with it!

I’m hoping to add a few more than 18 in July it’s been a busy month!

So only 3 5⭐️s this month but plenty of 4s! My favourite of the month was A Lair of Bones by Helen Scheuerer it was so strange and such a cruel beautiful world I absolutely loved her last series so I have high hopes for this one! Invisible Library was also a very good read had a Victorian steam punk vibe!

My only #fromabox book was Cut and I was a little disappointed to be honest I was expecting more from it!

My worst book was City of Sin by Ivy Smoak again I just wanted more from it!

Overall it’s been a fantastic month for books and I have a good line up for August!!

So this month I’ve read 23 and DNFd 5! I had a lot of books DNF this month I just don’t see the point in carrying on with a book that doesn’t hold my attention.
The 23 I read were almost all really good reads.

My absolute favourite book this month was The Vessel by Adam Nevill a book I’ve waited all year for and didn’t disappoint!
I also love The Wife which was from a box!

I didn’t have a book I disliked that I didn’t DNF

I’m moving house in November so don’t think I’ll get through as many!
