<b><i>I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.</i></b>
Well, now that school's over, time to get back into the swing of things... I think. But really, I'd like to apologize to anyone and anybody I've bothered because of the lack of motivation over here (the slump is real and it's horrible, and I think 2.5 years of "consistent" blogging is finally catching up and smacking me upside the head).

Moving on, but fair warning: this review might be short.

I feel like <i>Rise</i> falls a little short – but I really can't do much comparing aside literally one book (<i>Cage of Deceit). T</i>he first book in the <i>Order of the Krigers</i> series starts off a little slow and draggy – lots of preparing for Kaia to step into the role of a Kriger, so there is plenty of walking, talking, and training going on for awhile. But despite the feel of slowness and dragginess, I actually found a lot of the talking really interesting, because the world Jennifer Anne Davis builds in her newest series is just intriguing to learn about. It also helps that Kaia has this interest of learning as much as she can about the Krigers.

But anyways, while Rise felt like a slow start to the series, I don't think Jennifer Anne Davis will fail to deliver in future books. In fact... I think the slowness of the first book will be well worth it.

Concealed is the second book in the Beholder series, and it is a series, so it does need to be read in order.

Elea is on her mission to save her Sisters and Brothers from the vicious Vicomte. Rowan is on his mission to do goodness knows what - damn those Casters and their secrets! Elea wants to keep her distance from Rowan, but he has other ideas. He protects her whenever possible, and also gives her one of his familiars so that she can call for him whenever she needs to. Elea finds Amelia, the person Veronique told her to find, and she gets more information that will help her. Of course, time is always a constraint, plus other tendrils sneak in to disrupt Elea.

Without giving anything away, I had managed to guess the 'secret' and yet it still broke my heart. It took me a moment because that is exactly what I had thought during book 1, but then we met another character and thought I was wrong. Turns out I was right, and it HURT!!! On both sides, it hurt. For him and her. I really hope that there is a HEA coming otherwise I might be permanently scarred I tell you!

Incredibly well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. This book was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, with plenty of character development. It is also full of twists and turns that make it even more enjoyable.

If you like #Fantasy, then I can definitely recommend the Beholder series by Christina Bauer. Absolutely brilliant.

Ignited is the sixth and final book in the Daywalker Academy series and it is certainly a case of light blue touch paper and retire. I sincerely hope you spare however long it takes you to read this book on one go because, trust me, you will not want to put it down!

Secrets and betrayal, it's still going down and Franky is still in the middle of it. You see less of other characters in this one as Franky, Zoltan, and Soren take the lead. Zoltan is still growly and grumbly and Soren is still a pain in the ass (Franky's words, not mine).

Reading this book makes me think of what it must be like travelling by tornado. You are whipped around from place to place, never knowing what will happen when your feet touch the ground. Poor Franky. Although I like reading about it, to live your life that way must be exhausting. No wonder she wanted to sleep!

I have loved this series and am sad to see it come to an end. I really need to know about Fenrir and Myst, plus Leo. I found it a tad upsetting that the gang has split up but that just gives me more reasons to hound Ms. Daniels into follow up stories.

A brilliant end to the series that I highly recommend - but just remember to keep your mitts off Tenebris and Zoltan! Yes, I am greedy and I don't share! 😉🤣

One final thought just because I can - oh, Daren!!!

This is the story of Anais and Loke - a huntress from Archangel and a dragon shifter. During the battle that takes place in book 2, Loke snatches Anais from the battle after he gets a vision of her death. For some reason (we all know what), this is unacceptable to him so off they go. Loke calls Anais his 'little amazon' as he thinks she is fierce and unafraid. Loke is an intelligent, smexy blue dragon man who lives away from the other dragons because he doesn't like the power plays.

This is a brilliant continuation of the Eternal Mates series and I am LOVING that we have a dragon shifter - sorry, Kyter and Cavanagh! There are so many threads that are connected in this book and I really want Taryn and Bleu's story but I am waiting oh so patiently for that one as I know it will be superb!

But anyway, back to this one - the whole story seems to be coming together. We have mentions of Olivia and Loren showing up to help Loke; Sable and Thorne are there, and Kyter, Cavanagh and others all make an appearance. This is definitely a series (for me) to read in order as it makes the small nuances more noticeable and enjoyable. The plot is fast-paced and well-written with humour, heat and decisions to be made and maybe regretted.

Definitely recommended as both a book and the series. Another cracker from Felicity Heaton.

WINTERIAN SKY is the first book in the new Ninety Planets science fiction series. In it, we find a planet besieged on two fronts - one is by an incoming attack force, the other is by a virus with no known cure that is decimating the population.

Chesterfield is the lone scientist dedicated to finding a cure. Danacio is a Guard of Winterian, prepared to lay down his life for his planet. Together, these two go on a journey to figure out where the virus originated from and how to cure it. They meet a brilliant couple who have suffered their own losses, just as determined as Chesterfield to find the answers and the cure.

This is a fast-paced book that will keep you turning the pages. All of the characters are well-rounded and I loved how they all worked together, meshing with purpose. As the first book in a new series, there is world-building but also worlds-building. You get an idea of the Alliance and the things they stand for. I can't wait to read more in this series, and I'm seriously hoping for an update on Winterian and how their war is going on.

Love plays a big role in this story - whether it is familial love or romantic. There are moments of closeness between our two MCs but it is closed-door/fade-to-black which worked perfectly in this story.

A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed and I can't wait to return to the Ninety Planets!

UNDER A WICKED MOON is the second book in The Crown's Wolves series. Roman and Nova started the series; Vivi and Ky continue it. We start off with Ky going undercover - alone. He knows his brothers will be slightly miffed as they've always agreed to never go it alone. However, when the douchebag - sorry, I mean, the monarch - gives an order, Ky has no option but to do as he is told. There, he meets Vivi. The attraction is instantaneous but, being as the humans appear to want them to breed, both Vivi and Ky are determined to fight it every step of the way. It gets more complicated once they escape, moving the story along in leaps and bounds.

I thoroughly enjoyed book one, and book two is no different. I love these brothers, how they are so different in so many ways, and yet loyalty runs strong and true amongst them all. You get more hints at another brother, which I am also loving. Of course, you know it's not going to be easy for Vivi and Ky but I never realised just how hard. Oh, my poor heart got pummelled!

However, it was a brilliant read, keeping my attention from the first word to the last. I am loving how this story is moving and changing, even though the monarch doesn't appear to change at all. Jerk! I'm guessing it will be Shane's turn next, but whether it's him or Flynn, I'll be happy either way.

A great addition to the series that I have no hesitation in recommending.

RESTITUTION is the fourth book in the Reagalos series and brings to a close the story between Lornyc and Methian. You really need to read this as a series, otherwise, it just won't make sense. But then, would you expect it to, if you started at book 4?

Although this is a hard book for Lornyc, it was probably the easiest of the lot for me as the political machinations take a back seat to an epic competition where the prize is to be the Supreme Ruler of Beher.

The relationship between Lornyc and Methian continues to grow, no matter what is thrown at it. The supporting characters are still there, but we hear less of them in this one. The concentration really is on Lornyc and Methian, and I'm so glad it was!

I can't say any of it was a surprise, as such, but I wasn't reading it for surprises this time; just for the excellent standard of story-telling I have come to expect from this author. I had high hopes for Beher. Tolem was a great addition, especially for Cupris, and I hope we see more of them in the future.

This was a brilliant ending to their story, although it has been left WIDE-OPEN for further stories (hint hint - YES, PLEASE!) featuring both Lornyc and Methian and also ALL the other characters.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series from beginning to end, and I just don't think I'm ready to let them go yet. Absolutely recommended by me.

Geleon follows the rest of the Fueled by Lust series, in that it is smoking hot, with gorgeous, sexy, alpha males who are also some of the sweetest around, paired up with sassy females full of attitude! Jaelyn leads Geleon on a merry dance, but with Cato on his side (ye gods, I still love that male!!!!) she doesn't stand a chance! Geleon proves that he will do anything to prove to Jaelyn that he is just what she needs.

Geleon receives a shock of his own once Jaelyn's grandmother returns home, plus we find out if 'Ma' is really as senile as she was made out to be. I loved Ma and Eryx, their interaction was wonderful to read, and I really hope I don't have to wait too long for their story.

You see, right here, is the trouble with this series and Celeste Prater! No sooner have you started one book, than you get lost in the story and also find new characters to fall in love with and enjoy, which leads to you wanting the next book immediately!

As for this book, it is full of information that I can't wait to see where it goes or see how the history is intertwined with the present or the future. With action on both sides of the vortex, this is a star in the skies of Insedivertus! This series continues from strength to strength and I love it. Highly recommended.

First off, I enjoyed this book much more than the first book. I was familiar with the background, so I did not need to take time to understand everything, and I was already familiar with the main characters of the brotherhood, so I knew who I liked and wanted to know more about.
This book focused on Rhage and his love interest, Mary. Rhage is the one nicknamed "Hollywood" for both his good looks and promiscuous behavior. That, plus the violent habits of the brotherhood allow him to keep the dragon-like beast inside in check, but the appearance of Mary puts a new spin on an old curse. Just like the theme in the first book, the desire to claim Mary for his wife changes Rhage permanently - I detect a commonality throughout the series with this theme.
Rhage has a very frank and forward way of communicating, which I like, though it can sometimes throw me off in the reading. Mary sometimes got quite annoying with how low her self-image is. The way that the book ends and how the Scribe Virgin plays into Rhage and Mary's romance seemed a bit out of place and over-compensating, but it did cause things to work out well, so I won't complain.
The subplot of the lessers also progresses with the introduction of a secondary character under Mr. X, a Mr. O who seems to resent being a lesser and possesses a weakness. This, combined with a subplot dedicated to the brother, Zsadist, leads into the next book in the series, Lover Awakened.

Holy smokes! Ms. Harris is a FABULOUS thrilling, suspense author. Her book had it all. I mean all. It had the thrills of suspense, the chilling twists, the roller coaster ups and the breath taking romance that makes up a well rounded, beautifully written romantic suspense novel.

The characters within this book are perfectly chiseled. They are real-to-life and complexly portrayed in this thriller. Nikki, Erika, Tyler and the other secondary characters really pulled me into the heart of the story with them. Every fast paced move, every heart pounding scene truly came to life for me. I loved that!

Ms. Harris had me on the edge of the my seat through this whole book. I read it in one intense sitting! That is how a book is written, that's for sure. She added the perfect amount of messages from God and kept the story line flowing. This story is filled with hope and trusting in Him. You need both in today's world!

While this is not the first book in this series, it wasn't hard to get acquainted with the characters and their stories. But, I will for sure be checking out the first two books in the series as well as looking forward to the next installment! Ms. Harris, you are truly, superbly talented and I give this book a whopping 5 star praise and roof-top-shouting recommendations. <a href="http://cafinatedreads.com/revell-reads-review-pursued-by-lisa-harris/"; target="_blank">This review was originally posted on Cafinated Reads</a>
