One of the really early Asterix stories (from 1964), where Asterix and Obelisk head off to Rome to rescue Cacofonix the bard, who has been captured by the Romans stationed around the village, and taken in chains to Rome to be presented to Caesar/fed to the Circus.

I've also only just discovered that this is the first book in the series in which Obelisk says "These Romans are crazy!"

I wanted more romance.

I didn't enjoy this quite as much as the first one. I wanted more Mack and Corrigan time but it was still pretty good. I wanted more tension, more flirting, more...romance. Nevertheless, I will be buying book 3 as soon as this review is posted to continue this series and I'm really hoping that the training won't be taking five years because that's a loooong time.

I haven't read all of the Night Hunters series, three or four books but it was nice to see Cat and Bones in this. But I have to admit that I loved this book. I think it was mainly Vlad but Leila was kick arse herself and together they were pretty awesome. The storyline was intriguing and I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens next.

Oooh, this series!

Admittedly some bits bore me (generally the history associated with the treasure hunting) but the actual treasure hunting itself? Well, that bits fun. Very Indiana Jones/Lara Croft only with tarot cards. But really, for me, it's Sara and the Magician, and that chemistry they have burning between them. Please tell me that reaches boiling point soon..?

And then that bit at the end. Need book 6!<br/>

Turned out good in the end

The beginning was a bit too boring for my liking. It took too long for the good stuff to start...but when it did, it turned into a decent story and I pretty much devoured it.

I think there's some link between Nikolas and our girl, say mates or something? And I'm intrigued enough to want to read book 2 in the series.

Though there were sections that don't feature in the public consciousness a much as others (mainly due I suppose to how much they feature in the 1939 classic movie adaptation.) this book was precisely what I was expecting and hoping it would be, wonderfully whimsical with a dash of the macabre. Now I'm more excited than ever to continue through the 13 other books in L Frank Baum's Oz series!

Tahereh never disappoints! I felt so much throughout this whole book: anger, sadness, disbelief, disgust, hatred, love, happiness... It was definitely information overload and I was surprised at how everything fit together, despite being given to us in pieces. Reading Defy Me makes me want to start the series over, I can never get enough of Warner and Juliette (and yes, that's how I still think of them!)
