Instigated is the third book in the Daywalker Academy series and it should definitely be read as a series or you just won't get what's happening.
So, what is happening? Well, Franky is trying to figure out a way to get Zoltan back. And if that means doing a Spiderman impression then so be it. Fenrir is on hand to annoy her or help her. I'm not sure either him or Franky are ever sure which way that will go! Leo is also one with the wit and the banter between them all is as top-notch as ever. But Zoltan is missing and Franky needs to get him back even if it means sacrificing her eyeballs.
For the first three-quarters of this book, Zoltan isn't there - and that hurts, you know?! I've made no secret of the fact that HE IS MINE so for him to not be there was hard. Just when I was about to pen a strongly-worded memo to Ms. Daniels, she redeemed herself in the best way ever. ZOLTAN!!!
There is so much going on in this book, you seriously can't stop reading. This was a one-sitting book for me. No way was I doing anything apart from reading. There is danger, betrayal, tension, banter, dragons, wit, humour, and lots and lots of sexual tension (and not all of it between Franky and Zoltan!).
This world continues to amaze and delight. The fight scene at the end was outstanding and the characters continue to make me want to slap them upside the head or smile at fondly, depending on what they've just said or done.
The story itself continues to move along and, as always, it ends on one helluva cliffhanger. She kills me, she really does. Now I need to wait for the next one and I will do so (mostly) happily because a book from Maya Daniels is always worth the wait.
Do I recommend this? Do bears sh*t in the woods? Of course, I freaking do!!!

This story has two damaged characters for the main leads - Roxie and Alexander. They are both mysterious in their own ways but are drawn together by fate/circumstances/online forum - you take your pick. Roxie is carrying a bucket load of guilt from the past and Alexander is carrying a whole load of anger from the past. However, their pasts and their presents collide so will they have a future together?
After I had finished this book, I messaged a friend of mine who had also read it and I said to her "What a horrible, fantastic book." And that is how I feel about this story. It is gripping and enthralling, you won't want to stop reading it but at the same time, it will make your stomach clench and your heartbeat race - and not always in a good way. You will become so engrossed with the characters that you will speed up your reading until this particular scene is finished. Your heartbeat will slow down... until the next scene.
This book deals with an issue that I have only ever seen on TV or read about in the news. I simply cannot imagine how it goes on in real life but unfortunately, it is too often an occurrence it seems.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book although it was different from what I expected when I read the synopsis - there was less about the bomber and Alex's revenge, less about Roxie's past and more about what was happening now. This is not a bad thing, just different to what I was expecting.
This is the first book in the series which can be read as a standalone but I will be reading the next in the series when it comes out, which is Blood Sings (Hector's Story). I need to know more about these anti-heroes! Highly recommended but be warned - it's not all nice!

After I had finished this book, I messaged a friend of mine who had also read it and I said to her "What a horrible, fantastic book." And that is how I feel about this story. It is gripping and enthralling, you won't want to stop reading it but at the same time, it will make your stomach clench and your heartbeat race - and not always in a good way. BOUND is the third book in The Academy series, and we return to Jamie with Wren still unconscious after whatever happened to him in book two. Events are moving forward at a fast pace but now she has to stand on her own two feet, instead of leaning on Wren.
Romance is definitely down the list in this book, apart from hints of the dratted triangle. Maybe I'm cold-hearted but I can't say I was disappointed by what he did at the end! I do feel this side of things was let down in this book though. There was no development with Wren - being as he was out of it for 90% of the book. I would have liked to see how their lives were entwined together. It wasn't for Wren to save the day but it didn't seem like a partnership either.
Now, if you wanted action instead of romance, this is for you. The action is non-stop. Jamie still doesn't know who to trust, and now the Elders are involved too. Their participation just sort of fizzled out though, so unless there are more books planned, you'll never know what went on there. The same for Wren, really. The big bad is revealed at the end, and it was no surprise, although it was to Jamie. But were they the ones to poison Wren? How did that happen? Who did it? These are the questions I am left with unanswered.
Although Jamie's storyline is concluded, it has also been left wide open for stories from others - including Jacob and Cass, Forrest and Chloe - to name just two.
On the whole, this was a slightly different take on Shifters and their history. I loved hearing about Jeanetta. If you like your books heavy on action and less on romance, this could be just the series for you.

Sad, hopeful, caring, sweet, HOT! I loved every word.
KEEP ME ON EDGE is the fourth book in the My Kinky Housemate series and it's time for the pro-Dom to take centre stage. Stefan has liked Quinn ever since he entered the house. Quinn has liked Stefan ever since he entered the house. And it's through my boy Hendrix's meddling that Quinn finally has the courage to ask Stefan out.
Ah, man. These two! They are absolutely gorgeous together. Not in the 'I now have cavities' way of Theo and Preston (who I still adore, btw!) but in a caring and totally loving way of looking out for someone. And it goes both ways. It's not all Stefan catering to Quinn. The storyline with Stefan is absolutely heart-breaking. We already know some of it due to having Beau's story already, but hearing Stefan's side of it was just as bad.
Moving onto the steamy side of things, it's hot! I don't expect anything less from Colette Davison, but I seriously love the thought she puts into her scenes. This book taught me things I never knew I didn't know about narcolepsy and cataplexy and not once did I feel as though I was reading an instruction manual. Stefan takes notice of Quinn at all times, giving him the time he needs. This includes when they're in the bedroom. This will sound crazy until you read the book, but the bit with the fan made my eyes leak! So sweet, so considerate. LOVED IT!!!
I am loving this series. It seems as though it may be Rory's story next but who knows? What I do know is I will wait patiently for each book and thoroughly enjoy it when I get my grabby hands on it. We learn a little more about Hendrix in this book but, once again, I'll wait.
Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended by me.

Ah, man. These two! They are absolutely gorgeous together. Elemental Claim (War of the Myth #1) by Miranda Grant
ELEMENTAL CLAIM is the first book in the War of the Myth series. It starts off action-packed and remains the same throughout. Told from multiple points of view, we gain insights into the human world, the gods, the WALL, elementarists, descendants, angels, hellhounds, you name it and it is probably in here. It starts with a case of mistaken identity, a 'Mission Gemini' if you will. Emma soon realises that she doesn't really know her sister that well after all. Still, her protective instincts as an older sibling remain in full force, so she will do all she can to save her - even if that means allowing Rogan and his friends to kidnap her.
As I said, this book is full of action and doesn't stop. Emma slowly grows into her powers, but there is definitely still room for more. Absolutely recommended by me, and I can't wait to continue with the series.

As I said, this book is full of action and doesn't stop. Emma slowly grows into her powers, but there is definitely still room for more. There are other characters in here that I would love to know about. Xeno, for example. She is the angel only a few years from falling. Her health is failing, and her powers waning. And then suddenly, towards the end of the book, she starts healing. What?! I need to know more. What caused her health to degenerate in the first place, and why is she now healing? And will she and Hunter ever get together? Seriously, I need answers!

Council of Souls (Fated Eternals #2) by Jen Printy
Council of Souls is the second book in the Fated Eternals series, and we continue our story with Jack and Leah. We start off with Artegan as he finds out just what Death intends for Leah now. He knows that Jack won't like it, and will possibly do something stupid, so he doesn't say anything until the last minute. With her new duties taking up a lot of time, Leah struggles to find her balance, but Jack is on hand to remind her just who she is. A mystery woman on a train gives him food for thought, as the machinations of the council start to take over their lives.
This is a good continuation of their story, even though it's been a while since I read the first book, I was instantly drawn back into their world. There are lots of twists and turns, with intrigue galore, as the story progresses. It is smoothly written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I have no hesitation in recommending this book, although I would recommend that you read book one first as the story follows on.

This is a good continuation of their story, even though it's been a while since I read the first book, I was instantly drawn back into their world. There are lots of twists and turns, with intrigue galore, as the story progresses. It is smoothly written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I have no hesitation in recommending this book, although I would recommend that you read book one first as the story follows on.

I enjoyed this book even more than the last in the Paladin series. Everything was fleshed out more and there weren't as many spots that needed some editing.
I loved Blake, he was wonderful, and I liked Brenna too, after she got over her having to argue over every little thing in the beginning of the book. I get that people grieve differently and it took her a time for the death of her father to hit her, but I do not like romances where the heroine argues against everything the hero asks (or sometimes demands) she do, especially when it's for her own good - you know like living. I actually felt their love for each other in the book, where Dark Protector was lacking, and I liked how there was more background on the Paladins, so the book was wholly enjoyable.
The end was nicely done without being too sappy, and I ended up reading the excerpt at the back for the next book, which I cannot wait to read! I hadn't looked up the books at all and didn't know Barak was getting his own book (and then Cullen, yay!). It's going to be hard for me to wait, but I don't have the money to get either of those books (poor me :P) right now. I guess I'll just have to impatiently wait with other paranormal romances.

What do you get when you cross a down-on-his-luck private eye, a randy elf, a femme feline, a miniature horse, and a whole host of other oddball characters? Well, if you answered, "The book this review is about, you dolt," or something to that effect, then congratulations, you are right (and slightly hurtful). You get a gold star.
<b>Stalking the Unicorn</b> instantly had me hooked with the appealing characters, interesting plot, and tongue-in-cheek humor. The story flowed well and at a nice, clipped pace for a good part of the book. Unfortunately, it fizzled out a little bit nearer the end and lost some of my interest. I think too much was revealed too soon and the book probably could have lost around thirty pages. However, the plot picked back up some of its steam at the end, which saved the book from being three stars. Altogether, this is an easy and fun read that's a good starter to a series, and which I look forward to the next installments. If you like absurd humor, zany dialogue, detective work, and an urban fantasy setting all mixed into one big stew, than you'll probably enjoy this book.
Fun fact: Mike Resnick is the father of author Laura Resnick. I picked both of their books up about the same time without realizing it until after I had read her first Esther Diamond book. :)

I am a long time fan of Ms. Connealy's and I always look forward to her new releases. I was super excited when I saw she had the third book coming out for the Cimarron Legacy. It's one of my favorites of hers! This book was highly anticipated and it did not let me down.
This conclusion to the Cimarron Legacy was wonderfully done. She brings the Boden family full circle with this book, and I once again, fell in love with her cowboy. Cole Boden stole my heart and he didn't let it go. Watching his laugh out loud story line come to life before was so fun. He was a little stuffy, and a whole lot of hot God-fearing cowboy! Throw in the sweet cowgirl, Melanie and Ms. Connealy made a movie-worthy conclusion to her best series to date!
This is beyond 5 star worthy. There is love, there is laughter, there is twists and turns that will leave you in awe, and there is a powerful message from God woven in. Ms. Connealy is definitely a praise worthy queen of cowboy fiction in the Christian world. I am looking forward to keeping this book on my keeper shelf and can't wait for another bang of a book from this talented author. Fantabulous work, Ms. Connealy. Bravo!

Robin has just started a new job and is about to release her first book. RIght now, is seems as if life couldn't get any better for her. When a series of strange events begins to happen, Robin has to figure out exactly who is trying to sabotage her career. There are a few people it could be and right now Robin isn't sure who she can trust.
This book held my attention from start to finish. It was hard to put down. The book had a little bit of everything in it. A little thriller, a little romance, some conspiracy and murder. All throughout the book, you think you know who is going to be the one doing all of the dirty work. There seems to be so many suspects. Is it the handsome co-host? The ambitious intern who is desperately trying her best? The veteran at the station who will stop at nothing to stay on top and relevant? The associate producer whose story ideas always seem to fall a little short.
I could not put this book down. I had to know what was going to happen. I stayed on the edge of my seat. There was even one part where I shouted, "Holy Shit!" out loud. Luckily, I wasn't any place public when that happened.
