Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated The Protector (Sons of Texas, #2) in Books

this is the second book in the series, this is a continuing story and picks up where book one finishes. This is a romantic suspense story with plenty of romance to keep you reading long into the night. The characters were fab and you will fall in love with them from the start. This series so far has everything you need, action, mystery, romance and lots of chemistry. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.

Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Claim (Splendor #3) in Books

this is the third book in the series and the final book in the set. I really enjoyed the others and couldn't wait for this one and I wasn't disappointed. You will need to read the others before this one, it can not be read as a stand alone. The story is beautifully written and contains love, passion with added dark parts. A fantastic end to the series. I cant wait fot more from this author in the future.

Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Behind the Altar (Behind the Love Trilogy #1) in Books
May 7, 2019
This is the first book by this author that I've read and what a good read. This is the first book in this series and can be read as a stand alone read. The attraction between the characters is perfectly written. The added dark secret in the plot just adds to the story. The love story between the characters feels real and honest. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:
This one is better than the last one, but considering I'm comparing this to other books in this series and not saying it's all around 'good' or 'ok' should imply something to you. At least this one was faster paced, but the sentences in this one blinded my English professor so...
It's funny, even though there only one more book, I only see darkness at the end of the tunnel.

Amazing first book in the series!
The guys are all so individual and amazing. Completely different from any characters in any other book I've read. Laurel has created this fabulous alternate reality that I could only wish to be a part of. Carlyle is this beautiful strong female lead and you can really tell Laurel loves her character as you read the story. This book sets the tone for the whole series and if you've read the other books, you will know she just keeps up the standard the whole way through.

I got this as a Christmas present from my mum last christmas, and have just got round to reading it. Usually I read the book before watching the movie/ tv series, but this time it was the movie and series which made me get the book.
I really enjoyed the story and found it quite easy reading, with easy to connect with characters. Cassandra Clare has created a world which I was happy to get a glimpse inside of and I can't wait to get the second book to continue the adventure with Clary and Jace.

Kiss me first is six part T.V. series form 2018 that is (loosely) based on a book of the same title by Lottie Moggach. Set in the near future the series follows Leila, a young woman living alone in the house she shared with her mother, who had recently died. Leila spends most of her time in the Virtual Reality world of Azana where she goes by the name Shadowfax. Whilst in Azana, Shadowfax meets another play known as Mania who introduces her to a group known as ‘Red Pill’. As Shadowfax begins to spend more time with red pill she starts to realise that events in the game are being mirrored in real life.
As we are introduced to the characters the first couple of episodes’ flip between the real world and the VR world of Azana but, as the series progresses the VR gives way to the real world, pulling you into the madness of the characters and making the games being played even more sinister.
Kiss me first is not a light hearted series and through the red pill members it tackles subjects like depression, suicide & euthanasia as well as the core theme of manipulation which also makes it quite a slow burn.
I said that Kiss Me First was based on a book of the same title and, after watching the series I went off and read the book and found it to be quite different but also the same, let me explain. The book has the main core characters but Red Pill is a chat room and there is no VR or other version of Azana. Shadowfax/Leila only meets/speaks to two of the group (Mania and Adrian) and one of those are dead for most of the novel. Most of the same subjects are still covered in the book but the book seems to have a bigger focus on suicide whereas the T.V. series spends more time on depression. The book also seems to be a search for purpose and the series a search for belonging and friendship and the changes made in the series seem to make the Leila/ Jonty relationship a bit forced and almost irrelevant. If you enjoyed the book the series is worth a shot but expect a lot of changes and a bit more of a techie element.

I will quickly write this review because I cannot wait to start on the next book. It does not seize to amaze me just how wonderful this series is and how much the characters continue to grow. I truly love the storyline that Patricia Proctor continues to weave and highly recommend this series to everyone young and old.

Great Read
I quite enjoy this comic book series. Although it is written for an audience of teenagers, I seem to like it. The illustrations are amazing and the characters are fun. I would not mind cosplaying Amy in the future. The remake of this comic series is also amazing. (Part of the new 52)
