I've been looking at this book for about a year or so and after reading and loving it, I felt more inclined to buy this, so when I saw it was on offer at Amazon for 79p yesterday I bought it straight away.

And I was NOT disappointed!

I think it's fair to say that I am a fan of Kody Keplinger.

I started this a few hours ago and more or less devoured it. I really liked it! I just got really into it, I liked the characters; I fell hard for Wesley! I liked the plot, I liked how supportive her friends were because in a lot of books they can be two-faced b*tches.

I'm looking forward to reading more of the author's books.

And in seeing the film!

P.S. I've think I've got my reading mojo back :D

I am, once again, in the minority here because I just didn't get into this at all.

I was confused about the timeline, who was who, what was what and I spent most of my time with a frown on my face and scratching my head wondering what the heck was going on.

I think I just lost the plot completely but there are loads of others who have read this and given it 5 stars so it must be me!!

If you enjoy something of a challenge and dark, gothic stories, this is probably for you but not so much for me unfortunately.

Thank you to Serpent's Tail, Viper Books and Profile Books via NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in return for an unbiased and unedited review and I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked.

3.5 stars.

I was enjoying this for the first 60% or so but then it started to annoy me how they were dragging it all out. Why couldn't they just admit they wanted more from each other? Why couldn't they just get together?!

It took until about the 85% mark for me to get into it again and with it being on Scribd that I read this, it ended at the 91% so it was pretty close to the end when everything was working out and the HEA was within reach.

I will be reading the next book, [b:Beautiful Player|17831614|Beautiful Player (Beautiful Bastard, #3)|Christina Lauren|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1375285002s/17831614.jpg|24948167], at some point when I get back off holiday as it's part of a Reading list that I'm working through on BookLikes: http://booklikes.com/apps/reading-lists/146/books-to-fall-in-love-with

I really enjoy Tony Parsons' books as they have always excited me, kept me on tenterhooks and had me reading long into the night. Unfortunately, Who She Was, for me, is nowhere near on a par with his previous books which I am upset about.

It pains me to say this but I found the story boring, the plot tedious, the characters totally unlikeable or memorable and the twists just meh!

Now, this is my opinion only and I have seen lots of reviews that rate this very highly so please don't take my word for it ... you can't please everyone all of the time! I also won't let this blip put me off from reading more of Tony Parsons work in the future.

Thanks must go to the author, Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of Who She Was.

I would like to preface this by saying I only read a SNEAK PEEK, not the full book.

Scarlet was suggested to me as a cross between Veronica Mars (who I love) and Daria (who I know next to nothing about). Scarlet writes and reads fanfic about her favourite television show, Lycanthrope High. It's one of those books where you connect with the main character because they get you. The tv show, movie, book comic or video game character that you fall in love with feels like a real person - and Scarlet understands that. Her straight-laced best friend, Avery, not so much. It's a unique take on the high school experience with an awkward protagonist you want to know more about. I suggest you check it out.
