Enjoyed it.
Not at all what I thought it would be. I'm definitely glad I read the book before watching the film.

It's a very sad story in a way but there are so many nice moments through out the book. I've always been a fan of the letter/ diary format in books. It holds my interest like no other. I don't know what it is about it but it's just very entertaining to me. Reminds me of Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern.

I haven’t read anything by Val McDermid before (shock, horror!!) so didn’t really know what to expect but I have heard many good things about her previous books so took a punt and requested a copy via NetGalley and was approved by the publisher, Little, Brown Book Group UK to receive it in return for an honest review which can be found on my blog - Reading Stuff 'n' Things.

Great Read
I haven't read any other books like this. The world is very unique, and is centered around gambling. The story is told in alternating perspective which is great because Levi and Enne come from such different backgrounds. They are not always honest with each other, but the reader still knows the truth about everything that is going on. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Enne's character develops in the second book, and if her relationship with Levi will continue to grow.

What a fantastic set of books. Each book is about different characters with there own stores. This author has a fab way sucking you into the story and keeping you reading long into the night. All the characters in each of the stories are very well written and have fantastic chemistry. This is a contemporary romance box set that is a must read. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this \book.

Enjoyable! Enjoyed the fact that the main character is a domme which I find rare in bdsm romances which earned some kudos. Though lost some with making her a switch as most Domme books I've come across also made the domme a switch. Also nothing about the grandfather or Isa during that year skip? We never learn more after she gives the grandfather a nod after the crp he threw at her.

This is a voluntary review and I do not get paid for this review.

One of the all-time best
I have read a lot of books, but this was by far one of the best ever. This book was nothing short of amazing. It's the kind of book that stays with you - I still revisit it in my mind. I have not stopped telling people about it since I read it... When it first came out!! It's a near-perfect read. And for lovers of nonfiction, this book reads like a remarkable, moving true story.

A pretty decent comic book romp in the same graphic style as Sin City. Unfortunately any similarities end there, despite a strong cast this fails to pack a punch. I didn't know anything about the comic book and you have to wait halfway through the film to get any idea of the characters background. I felt it could have been better. Maybe one more for fans of Frank Miller stories or comic books. Silly over the top fun action but nothing special.

If your a Cathy glass fan like I am and have red previous books by her then you might have red about Lucy (her adopted daughter) this book explains how she becomes part of there family but also details Lucy's life before she came to find her new home.
Cathy is a foster carer and has looked after and helped many children in need along with making you feel the emotions and trauma that these children go through you follow Cathys life and home.

I must have seen the movie or heard enough about it that I thought I read the book years ago. It turns out that I didn't.

The book was a very easy and fast read. Ignore the fact it took me a month to read it. It really only took 2 hours to read and was just very spread out and life and other books got in the way.

Give it a read and see what you think. If nothing else, it will help in trivia games.
