This is one of those books that makes you think - about your past, your decisions, your life. I'll post a link to my full review after it is published.

I absolutely love this app, and use it almost daily! My favorite thing about it is that you can use it to read on your phone if you choose, i.e. if a book isn't available in Kindle format. I'm no longer afraid of the Library Police either, because the books are returned on their own on the date they are due! With my library and Overdrive, you can choose your lending period, 7, 14 or 21 days. You can put books on hold, create a wishlist, and view your reading history. Overdrive is a must for readers like me!

I wrote something a little more reflective about my reading year and finally put it into words over on the blog.

In 2025, I read 552 books, more than one a day, and writing about it felt less about the number and more about what reading has meant to me during a year that has held both uncertainty and steadiness side by side. I touch on being a lifelong speed reader, reading with aphantasia, beginning and ending the year with five-star books, and how stories have been a place of comfort while I have been looking and applying for work without much luck.

It is not a celebration post so much as a quiet acknowledgement of how books carried me through the year and why they continue to matter to me as deeply as they do.

If you would like to read it, the blog post is here https://archaeolibrarian.wixsite.com/website/post/merissa-s-year-in-books

One of the worst books I've ever finished. I know nothing about the author, but I have to wonder what she has on whom to get this thing into print.

I've heard great things about Shiloh Walkers books but never read one till now. Why? I ask myself. Wow. What a great start to a series. I need more x

I'm thinking about creating a theory orb. A place where any theory on books or movies, even blanket theories over certain genres can converse and compare.
What does everyone think?
