Perfection
I could gush for pages about this but I won't, I will just say I have read thousands of books and this is better than all of them. Utterly brilliant

One of my favorite books about one of my favorite trilogies! Covers everything from marketing, to production, to even the soundtrack. Super insightful!

I'm not really one for children's fiction anymore but I bought this for my nieces to read and then decided to give it a go myself since Walliams has so much hype about his books. It was alright.

The plots in the Rachel Morgan series just keep getting even more intriguing. I am (just about) fully enjoying everything in these books; the only thing I'm iffy about is the Rachel/Ivy thing. I don't know what direction Ms. Harrison is taking it, but I sincerely hope she doesn't make Rachel her scion...or more. I think it would change the whole feel of the series for me. Otherwise, her books are fun, fast paced, and fascinating. I can't wait to read the next one! :)

To an almost nine year old who had trouble reading oh so long ago, with the help of my mother, I became so engrossed in reading these books aloud, that I now have everything ever written about Pern. (0 more)
Learned to read with these books
Learning about Pern from Lessa’s point of view was enchanting from a nine year old’s perspective. Over thirty years later, I reread this series over and over again. Both my mother and grandmother had read the series before me and now I’m reading it to my nine year old niece.

Star Wars: Death Star (Star Wars)

An OK addition to (the books I've read in) the Star Wars canon, the main focus of this one is obviously about the eponymous Doomsday device built by the Empire: the dreaded Death Star.

The vast majority of the book is actually about the construction of the same, told from the viewpoint of several different characters involved in and living on it, with the culmination of the novel the events that take place during "A New Hope".

In short, there's better 'expanded universe' Star Wars books out there.

"This is cheating because it’s four books in one. But Liebling wrote so well about so much, a compendium is merited. Two of these are reporting from World War II, where no other writer, in my opinion, could touch him. “The Road Back to Paris” is an epic dispatch full of hard times and the finest lyricism. The other two books are about France, food, wine, memory, boxing. I wouldn’t argue if you insisted that Liebling’s greatest subject was actually New York City, or even Louisiana. It’s too bad there’s not a twelve-pack."
