AWESOME !!!!
I have been waiting for this book since the last one came out (Which seems like for ever ago, but in reality was only a couple months).
Thor finally gets the girl, Or in this case a Queen Mother. Instead of the Queen Mother playing matchmaker this time, her kids decide to push her out side of her shell and set up a series of dates; really publicity stunts to gauge the public's response to the Queen Mother moving on and the possibility of new love for her. But the Queen Mother already has someone in mind, if she can get him to go along...
One of my favorite books by Carol Moncado so far, although I think I say that about ever book she writes. I would Highly recommend putting this book on your TBR Pile.

3 stars.
The first 40% of this took me a long time to get into. I don't know why. Maybe it was the trial, maybe it was the lack of Joe, but after Mason was introduced I became more intrigued with what his role would be in the series (although I've read reviews by friends of future books in the series, so I guess I already know) and by the end, I think I was starting to prefer him to Joe (Joe's jealousy in relation to Mason was starting to do my head in) and I want to read future instalments in this series to see what happens next with this threesome.
I feel I have to add something about Miss Mildred! What a, erm...strong-willed old lady. That bit at the end almost had me crying with laughter.

Charlotte (184 KP) rated Dare (Pixieland Diaries #3) in Books

A daring third installment!
I'll be honest, I've not read the first two books.....I know I've missed a treat having read Dare. It's a nice easy read, perfect for a lazy afternoon in the garden.
It's well written fun with twists and surprises. Although short you still get to know the characters and form your own relationships with them. I love the optimism and closeness of Calla and Dare, the way they think along similar lines and have a bit of a mischievous streak. It was fun seeing each of them grow and discover things about themselves.
They definitely fit well together.
There are characters that I don't like, with good reason, and ones that I just generally don't care for.
Christina Bauer never disappoints with her writing but always amazes me with her imagination.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Divergent in Books

4.5 stars.
I have this thing where I have to read books before the films are released, i.e. twilight, mortal instruments, and when I heard this was going to be a film, I just had to read it.
That being said, I wasn't entirely sure what the book was about before I bought it yesterday, just that it was a young adult dystopia story with romance in it.
Either way I was hooked from early on. I think it was when it came out that she didn't fit into any faction, that she was Divergent. Then we met Four, and, the sucker I am for any hint of romance, I was a goner. Hooked.
I really enjoyed this. It had a bit of everything that I like in a story and I can't wait to read what happens next in the series.

ClareR (5885 KP) rated The Other Boleyn Girl in Books

I read this quite a long time ago, but I have to say that I do read all of Philippa Gregory’s books because they’re just really good stories. I do have a bit of a thing about the Tudor period, and I’ve read a fair bit of both fiction and non-fiction around the period. I’m aware that this (and her others) may be heavily fictionalised, but part of reading is entertainment, no? But I do like how I feel immersed in these stories.
And who knew that Anne Boleyn’s sister had an affair with Henry VIII before Anne married him (well, when the book came out, not many people seemed to know - unless they were very heavily into their history!)? And honestly, I wouldn’t be overly surprised if a lot of goes on in the book actually happened!

I've read quite a few of Feehan's paranormal books and enjoyed them so the chance to read a contemporary book by her? Sure, why not.
I enjoyed this more than I expected. MC's can be hit and miss for me but this one worked well for me. It had a touch of unusual talents, almost paranormal abilities, in some of the guys and I liked that. It was interesting in how connected they all were, how in sync... There were some dark themes throughout this book so it isn't for the faint hearted.
Add in the romance, and although he could be a bit domineering, I actually really liked that side of the story too.
Very intrigued about the rest of the members and the women/men who will claim them. Can't wait to read more.
