AWESOME !!!!
I have been waiting for this book since the last one came out (Which seems like for ever ago, but in reality was only a couple months).
Thor finally gets the girl, Or in this case a Queen Mother. Instead of the Queen Mother playing matchmaker this time, her kids decide to push her out side of her shell and set up a series of dates; really publicity stunts to gauge the public's response to the Queen Mother moving on and the possibility of new love for her. But the Queen Mother already has someone in mind, if she can get him to go along...
One of my favorite books by Carol Moncado so far, although I think I say that about ever book she writes. I would Highly recommend putting this book on your TBR Pile.

"When I was a kid, my dad read all the time, mostly westerns and thrillers. I was fascinated by the books, even though I knew they were too ‘adult’ for me, that I wasn’t quite ready to read them. When I turned fourteen, my dad gave me a birthday gift—a book called A Prayer for the Dying by the great Jack Higgins. It was a concise, powerful page-turner about a world-weary IRA hitman trying to do the right thing. I loved the characters and the plot, plus it was set in Ireland, where my dad’s family emigrated from. That book sent me down the road to reading more and more thrillers. And then eventually writing them. I still have that now battered paperback and re-read it from time to time just to feel connected to my dad."

The first 40% of this took me a long time to get into. I don't know why. Maybe it was the trial, maybe it was the lack of Joe, but after Mason was introduced I became more intrigued with what his role would be in the series (although I've read reviews by friends of future books in the series, so I guess I already know) and by the end, I think I was starting to prefer him to Joe (Joe's jealousy in relation to Mason was starting to do my head in) and I want to read future instalments in this series to see what happens next with this threesome.

I feel I have to add something about Miss Mildred! What a, erm...strong-willed old lady. That bit at the end almost had me crying with laughter.
