So far this has been my least favorite book in the Stephanie Plum series...but that is NOT to say I didn't enjoy it. Grandma getting kidnapped, Stephanie buying a wedding dress, mud wrestling. How can you not enjoy that!?
This followed the same formula as the previous novels. The background gets explained at some point which is nice for people who haven't read all the books, but it gets a little tedious when you read that Stephanie was laid off from her lingerie buyer job for the 100th time. But I suppose that's just nit-picking.
That being said, I'm not sure what it was about this book that made it less likable than the previous 6. I guess ti boils down to the fact that I didn't feel quite as caught up in the plot of this as I did in the others.

This is the second book I've read that was written by Robert Dugoni. I have to admit at first I wasn't a big fan of this book, but after getting about 50 pages in, the book did begin to pick up the pace a bit. Once the plot hit it's stride, it moved at breakneck speed with barely a second to let the reader catch his/her breath! (Just the way I like it!) So if you can forgive a slow start the payoff in the end is well worth it.
I also like the main character in Dugoni's books...David Sloane. He is a slightly misunderstood, foster care system raised, misfit attorney. But he is very easy to like, even if he does tend to be a bit lucky in verdicts & lost witnesses turning up at the last minute. You can't help but feel for him & want him to win.

I loved everything about this book, Watney's sense of humour is golden and I love how he never reacts to a situation like you would expect a normal person to. Instead of breaking down and being dramatic (not every human reacts like this!!) he just accepts that s**t happens and moves on, that's a pretty admirable trate in a person. Not only did I enjoy the way the story was told through his logs but also through different points of view, I also enjoyed how incredibly scientific the book was, it's all reasonably accurate science too which is refreshing, most sci fi books drift into the realm of impossibly and become outright ridiculous but this kept the science pretty on point which is impressive. If you're a space nerd with a dry sense of humour (like me) I'd highly recommend reading this, it's an amazing book :)

I’m going to be honest, I didn’t really enjoy this one. It’s more of a plot filler to make the whole series 13 books long and it just seems a bit forced.
The Baudelaire’s travel to VFD, where the whole village plans to look after them. The town has recently lost its chief of police and a new one is brought in, who, quite shockingly, isn’t Count Olaf. He comes in later.
I don’t really know what to say about this one. It’s definitely not the most entertaining, and I only read it to get to the next book in the series. It was definitely more of a filler than an actual movement in the plot.
I didn’t give up on it though, even though I was close. I think the fact that I didn’t even enjoy it made me read it faster just to get it over with.

I enjoyed this book. I read it as a late teen and I liked the innocence. The storylines are not as complex or involved as other vamp books but I'd advise you, if you're looking for something more adult, you look at maybe the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris or Halfway to the Grave (also a series) by Jeaniene Frost. The characters were not overly mushy or sexual at all really. I think this book is more for the early teen years. I liked it because I could relate, I was a goth teen and that fashion still sticks with me. I also love vampires!
The rest of the series grows up with the characters and you see them become more complex and find out new things about them. It's kind of kiddish in its simplicity, but as the series has gone on I've enjoyed it more and more.

I read this book for my monthly book club, I was a bit dubious about reading it for two reasons- number one, I don't usually read crime fiction and number two, knowing it was J K Rowling and how much I love Harry Potter, I didn't know if I would like it.
All that being said I absolutely loved it, just as ahe does with Harry Potter she gives the characters so much depth and background you feel like you actually know them. I love the character of Cormoran Strike and the relationship he has with Robin.
I also like the fact there were no clues given away at all to indicate how the book will end which kept me interested all the way through.
Needless to say I will absolutely be reading the next few books in the series.

Complex characters
I first heard about this series several months before the third book was released. I was interested because it is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I didn't know what to expect as I had never read a Maas book before; little did I know this would become one of my favourite book series!
Out of the three books, ACoTaR is my least fave, but I think it is still a good book. I couldn't put it down (despite lack of much action for most of the book), and started on the second book asap.
I wasn't very fond of the main character Feyre in this first book, and I didn't particularly like Tamlin. I was intrigued by Rhysand, and liked Lucien.
I am so glad I got into this series, and would recommend it.

I have been really into menage books lately. However, they either end up being absolutely amazing or pure garbage. I wasnt sure how to feel about this novel going in because I find I dont really enjoy the whole rock star scene nor do I like when the author has to use the one of them has a dark secret trope (especially since the secret it usually something stupid
)
This novel, however, had everything. It had humor, it had drama, and it had heat. I was surprised by the dialogue. Dialogue can make or break a book for me, but Derrick knew what she was doing. I wish I could have liked the female lead more, but she just didnt sit right with me. I felt like she was too delicate even though she tries to be strong. I found her personality grating at points.

Not enough Death
I had high hopes for this book as Death is one of my favourite characters, but sadly it was a bit of a letdown.
Don't get me wrong, it isn't a bad book and is still quite good, it just isn't on par with a lot of the other Discworld books that I've read. Death is a fantastic character but he just isn't featured in this book enough (despite it being about life and death). The wizards and Windle Poons are featured more heavily and sadly they're not quite as loveable. They're funny in their own way, but they get a little rambling after a while. The plot too suffers from rambling as well and the whole concept is a little bit too bonkers, even for a Discworld novel.
It's still a good book and easy to read, it just isn't one of the best in the series.

Bonded (Law of the Lycans #1) by Nicky Charles
This book has been languishing on my Kindle since April 2013, but I've finally got round to reading it, and I'm currently kicking myself for waiting so long!
This is an excellent story that shows the work it takes to keep wolves from the humans' radar, but also how some wolves think they are better than others, and what they do to them. And in the middle of it all, we have Reno and Brandi - a couple that surely belong together if only they would stop being so stubborn.
Well written, with some steamy scenes that in no way take away from the story. A smooth pace and an intricate storyline. I'm about to start Betrayed now as I am hooked on this world. Absolutely recommended by me.
