I've never read any books by this author and neither have I read the previous books in the series but that wasn't a big issue as the events of the previous books are explained in short pretty early on in memories and discussions between the characters but you still feel like you've missed something.
There is a history between Reaper and Lilith and I enjoyed the chemistry that still sparked. It was definitely a second chance romance while trying to bring about a certain someones downfall.
It had some nice description in this but I did struggle at times to get absorbed in the story. I'd pick it up, read about 5% and then put it back down again and concentrate on my paperback instead. I think it sounded more like my kind of read than what it turned out to be.
If you liked the previous books or like futuristic stories set on Earth where everything has gone to ruins and people are doing what ever they can to make money and keep the peace between the remaining areas of the USA then you'll more than likely enjoy this.

The 40th(!) This one is to do with the introduction of the railway to the Discworld, and also offers many a reference to previous characters and situations in the series as a whole: indeed, at times, it almost feels as if Pratchett is trying to squeeze as many in as possible.
Unfortunately, it's also not his best: I have to admit, in general, I've found most of his Industrial Revolution novels to not be as good as, say, those based around either The City Watch or those based around The Witches. Like the locomotive on which it is based, I found this one to take a fair bit of time to gather steam, and to feel a wee bit ponderous and unwieldy - this, I have to say, is not a novel I would use to introduce somebody new to the delights of the Discworld. :-(

WOW!
WOW! This was an INCREDIBLE book! Well written and a INCREDIBLE story! With shockers and not so surprising events I enjoyed this book VERY MUCH! It made me laugh and cry! Also think about things I generally wouldn't think about. If you have read the Hunger Games, Divergent or The Maze Runner I would suggest these two books. Disruption is first and then this one! WOW!

This is probably one of my favorite BSC books. It made sense to me that Mary Anne wouldn't want to talk to Richard about what she found and I adored the fact that none of the BSC really pushed her to talk about what was bugging her; they just let her tell when she was ready.

I have about 6 books in this series. I adore it. The update gives information about hackers and possibly murderous clowns in addition to getting away from a drone attack.
This book is a quick, easy read and packed with tidbits I hope I'll never end up using.
