I'm not sure what it was about this. The storyline and characters...or how closely it resembled Pride and Prejudice (I'm thinking of the film: the Keira Knightley one since it's the only one I've seen). But I really liked it. In fact I pretty much devoured it

It was definitely a fun young adult, modernised version and I wouldn't mind reading more like this or more books by the author.

"This is the unedited and unadulterated version of the stories that made up Isherwood’s books Goodbye To Berlin and Mr Norris Changes Trains, which were the source material for the play I Am A Camera and later the musical Cabaret. I find it fascinating that Isherwood still writes about himself in the third person. An interesting literary device, yet it feels like a smokescreen and leaves you wondering how much more there is to tell."

I gave this up at 37% because I've been reading it for 9 days and have hardly gotten anywhere. Don't get me wrong. I like it. It's just not grabbing my attention like most books do and I always pick it up to start it and read about two pages before I put it back down again to read something that does grab my attention and makes me want to read it.
