Despite what happened to Rowe in the last book i think this is the most I've laughed/smiled at a book in this series. The tequila scene with Snow, the bit at the end with the code names just to name a few. But at the same time, i think it was hard for the authors to write something that was going to make us fall in love with this couple like we--well I--did with the previous two simply because we got to know Rowe's wife for a while and to lose her like he did was hard. But i am glad he found love again.

The other main plot to this series. Jagger. That was a bit of a shocker at the end of this and i cannot wait for our boys to kick his head in. Seriously, what an arse he is. Criminal underworld boss extraordinaire. While Ian and the cop are falling in love in the next book i want them plotting a big ruse to ruin him!

Can't wait for book 4!

One of the best books I have read this year and one of the best in this genre I have read for a very long time!

I have never read anything by Neil Lancaster before but the blurb sounded right up my street so gave it a punt and I'm so glad I did because what a brilliant start to a series.

Max is a very interesting character with a strong back story which most definitely adds to the story as a whole. There are some dark moments interspersed with lighter times and I particularly like the relationship Max has with his boss, Ross, and colleague, Janie, which felt authentic.

What can I say ... brilliant characters, gripping story line, excellent pace, full of tension and action featuring historical feuds, revenge, dirty coppers, gangsters and all set in beautiful Scotland ... just a fantastic book all round really and I can't wait for the next instalment.

Thank you HQ Digital and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest, unbiased and unedited review.

Harold's hum-drum life take an unexpected turn when he finds himself in Mexico, recently single, possibly jobless, and on the wrong side of a cartel boss.

I have to say, the first few minutes of this film were quite possibly my favourite... Harold (David Oyelowo) singing in his car... yep. That's how I start every morning and it just made me smile.

I like the fact that the trailer didn't give away any of the twist for this one. It made for a nice surprise and amusement. It was a nice little film, but I'd put a vote in for more Harold and Mitch (Sharlto Copley) time and less of everyone else. The pair made a great little double act. And while there was at least a good ending for Harold, I'm surprised that they didn't give him a little more romance. When the film ended, while satisfied, I did wonder if they just gave it the ending they did just so they could say they didn't go with the cliché one.
