Contains spoilers, click to show
Set in the near future Real Steel is the comeback story of a washed-up boxer, who's only inspiration is is estranged son.

Former boxer Charlie Kenton has had to move with the times as traditional boxing has been replaced by the mega-sport of Robot Boxing and Charlie isn't very good at moving with the times. But when his ex-wife dies and he gains custody of his estranged son, Max, who he's never met, the adventure of a lifetime begins.

Charlie must juggle is meager on-the-road, always look for a new robot and a new fight lifestyle, with looking after an 11-year-old child. But when a freak accident leads Charlie and Max to an old sparring bot, Max is determined to get it running again. Once fixed up the pair find that the bot, named Atom, they discover it has a very rare feature, a mode that will literally let it copy the moves of a user in real time.

Starting in the underground fighting leagues, Atom rapidly rises through the ranks until it is noticed by the Robot Fighting League and offered an official fight. Whilst fighting and winning in the official league, Max sets his sights for Atom on an undefeated mega-robot, much to Charlie's distress.

This is the story of a boy reconnecting with the father he never knew though the one thing they have in common, Robot Boxing. Through the destruction and crashing metal come some heart-wrenching emotional scenes.

Look out for some interesting product placement and a very unusual statue outside the final arena.

Local Philadelphia retired boxing legend Rocky Balboa is persuaded by up and coming young protege and son to his former adversary and friend, Apollo Creed, to reenter the ring this time as a trainer to mentor the young man. Everyone is Rocky's life has left him at this point so he is alone working at a successful restaurant. After some hesitation, Rocky agrees to take on the training challenge.

Creed initially has desire to make a name for himself on his own terms trying to disown his father's legacy. When it is discovered who he truly is, he is forced to embrace his family's tradition in order to secure an important early fight in his career.

The film hit all the generic plot points for a movies like this with n huge surprises, but that is not a complaint. The characters are well written and the dialogue seems genuine. It's great to see Stallone resurrect the role that made him a star in 1976 with a freshness which is exuded while he takes on his new pupil.

It;s hard to believe so much time has passed since we have seen Rocky and how his life has changed in the process. He seems like a broken man having outlived all the people which meant most to him in his life.

The boxing scenes are well put together and grounded in reality having some real professionals onscreen like famous sportscasters and boxing personalities.

You are never bored while watching and thoroughly entertained by the training montages.

"I saw Rust And Bone. It’s about a woman who is a whale trainer, and she loves to go dancing: she loves to go to the club. And the other main character is really into boxing, and he has a son that he doesn’t take care of, but then he has to. It’s hard to feel empathy for either character in the beginning. There are some really intense plot twists. She eventually loses her legs. They become good friends. I won’t say anymore, but it was amazing."

A classic game for all ages!
A classic game that came with the Nintendo Wii console. You can play Baseball, Boxing, Bowling, Golf and Tennis. You can play between 2-4 players. There are also various training modes and a fitness multi-game challenge. It's so simple to play whether you are a kid or an Oap, everyone enjoys it. I still play it around my mums when I visit. The fact it uses your Mii characters you create as well makes it more fun.

I hate that they haven’t done a version of this for the Switch. The bowling was great!
