Rolling Stone's 107th greatest album of all time
Brilliant collection of soul classics. I found Cooke to be similar to Frankie Valli - you have no idea how many of their songs you know until you listen to a greatest hits like this and there are so many memorable songs.

"Frampton’s structural riddle (nostalgia) and Akerman’s city symphony News From Home are brilliant experiments in self-portraiture and sound-image relationships that both derive their power from paradox. His film enacts a tug of war between memory and anticipation; hers conjures an indelible sense of both place and displacement"

"The Bends is the best Radiohead album. It is. This is right when they started distilling their songwriting, right before they started experimenting with OK Computer, which is a brilliant record too. But to me, The Bends is as good as it gets because the songwriting is impeccable.”"

"Just peerless. Georges Delerue’s score is my favorite of any film. Raoul Coutard’s photography is dazzling. The film seems to be, among another things, a brilliant analysis of the difficulty of translation. It’s hard to choose one Godard film, but Contempt seems to encapsulate so much of his genius."

"This brilliant film about a boy’s coming of age introduced me to French cinema. Malle creates a fascinating picture of French family life; it’s both a comedy and a story of alienation. The mood of the more intimate scenes stays with me, as does the great jazz score."

"No poet since Wallace Stevens has used poetry as a vehicle for such ecstatic thinking. In her recent books, Graham has faced up to the peril of our moment more than any other writer I know. She has become not just a brilliant poet, but an essential witness."

Just finished watching on Disney + and its really good if you're into this kinda movie which I'm not normally. Frances McDormand who deserved the Oscar for this movie is brilliant I don't think she's ever done a bad movie. Anyway probably won't watch again but thumbs up
