Bearly Restrained (Dunn Playing #1) by Paige Conners
Bearly Restrained is the first book in the Dunn Playing series. It starts with a kidnapping and quickly becomes a brilliant story involving lumberjacks and an author's PA! Because Meigs is a PA to a paranormal author, she knows all about shifters, so there isn't much shock involved when she meets Jax for the first time. In fact, she accepts it so well that Jaxon is very shocked! I loved how this was swapped around to a 'normal' paranormal story. Jaxon and Meigs are a brilliant couple, and he is there for her every step. In fact, his whole family is brilliant (apart from one), and I loved his dad's attitude.

Whilst steamy in places, there is enough romance here to melt my heart. And the parts involving being a PA, working for an author, signing events, and the amount of books Meigs had, well, that just had me laughing out loud at the truth written in every word! With a love story, an author's event, AND a touch of suspense, this book has something for everyone. This was very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I would definitely recommend this to all PNR fans, and I can't wait for the next one!

"A Christmassy hug-in-a-book!"
A GIFT-WRAPPED HOLIDAY is a brilliant book for the Christmas season. It will give you the warm fuzzies, even though serious topics are covered.

Luca and Mal are the perfect pair even if they don't act on it immediately. I loved that about the book though. They don't play games and mess around but they also don't rush into a relationship where a child is involved without thought.

There is little-to-no angst in here but it didn't need it. The characters move the story along brilliantly by themselves. The pacing is wonderful and it shows the connection between Luca and Mal, giving it time to deepen before there is any steam. I loved the world of Lighthouse Bay and now I want to read the other books. I don't feel that it impacted me negatively at all that I hadn't read them before this one.

One thing I have to add is I LOVED all the research that went into Luca's shop. It was a brilliant idea that worked perfectly. I just wish there was a store like that near me!

This is the second book by this author I have read (the other being On The Ice) and both books have been 5-star reads. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended by me.

Brilliant cop drama
A great buddy cop drama that has a real dramatic level of realism. It's largely the story of a pair of cops on duty in a tough part of L.A as seen through their bodycams, squad car dashboard and other cctv footage. The acting is spot on and the finale will have you on the edge of your seat. One of the best of it's genre I've seen in years!

Wonderful, honestly!!
I am so enjoying this series. I've tried to steer clear of reading series recently. I'm following a couple already, and the wait for the next book in those series is excruciating! So here I am, at the end of book 2, and I have to wait until next year for the third! Ah well. Anyway, I loved everything about this book: the storyline, the characters, the world building. It's brilliant. Well worth a read.

Intense, fabulously strong protagonist
Pretty horrific from the outset, this disturbing tale of a serial killer and abuser leaves you feeling breathless by the end. I managed to listen to this in one sitting.

The main character is brilliant, she is stronger than you can ever imagine and I salute Helen Callaghan for raising the issue of mental health and the stigma surrounding it.

Great twist in the end although it may seem disjointed and there are unanswered questions.
