I loved the first Order of the M.U.S.E. book and was looking forward to this one. Pierce Westfall is an intriguing character - tormented by the voices he can't control. Nora is an aristocrat who fell from the graces of her family when she married for love. Together these two are central to a plot to use Truth Powder on the Prince and restart a war.

This is a smoothly-written, well-rounded historical romance with paranormal aspects. I love all the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the banter between Stanstead and Westfall. I also enjoyed catching up with Lady Cassandra, as she continues her life with Stanstead. This is such a brilliant set of characters, I would be hard-pressed to say which one is my favourite.

The descriptions of Bedlam were horrible, but I'm sure nowhere near as bad as they could have been. Well done to Mia for capturing the essence of Bedlam, without it overpowering the storyline. A brilliant addition to the M.U.S.E. series - highly recommended.

FLYING HARD FOR FINN is another in the Pet Play by the Lake series and introduced me to dove play. I've read about puppies, ponies, and bunnies, but never a bird. It started off differently than usual too, which I thought was brilliant.

Finn is the younger one in the couple. When the story starts, he is a handler without a pet because puppies and kittens just don't do it for him. That changes when he sees a dove. It changes even more so when he realises he knows who the dove is - his step-uncle of the past four years.

There is lots going on here and with a slight hint of taboo-but-not-really. Theo is a brilliant character but his ex, Isaac, is a douche through and through. Finn has more understanding and patience than most twenty-three-year-olds. Together, it works.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to more in this series. Definitely recommended by me.

A beautiful, magical fairy tale
Written as a 'grown up' fairy tale, set in Russia, this is the story of Vasilisa and her connection with the house spirits and eventually, the Frost Demon. She has magic, and this sets her apart from the others in her village, in a time where Christianity is flexing its muscles. Her stepmother is a devout Christian and won't allow her to worship the spirits. Eventually a city priest comes, unwillingly, to be their village priest, which is when things really start to go wrong for not just Vasilisa, but the whole village.
A brilliant story!

Mix of comedy and science
This podcast, presented by Prof Brian Cox (he of the lovely hair and "isn't everything brilliant" attitude) teams up with angry comedian Robin Ince to present this BBC Radio 4 science podcast looking at the scientific discussions of the day, with guests representing differing viewpoints. Brian's engaging, accessible descriptions of the science involved meet Robin's layman's understanding (though I think he has a better understanding of things than he lets on) and deliver a good, understandable debate on why things matter and why we should be more interested in science.

Outstanding film
I love this film! One you can rewatch over and over again, yet never tire of it. The film is shown in flash backs, each scene showing what happened just before the last section. The main character has short term memory loss which plays well with how the film is viewed. It has a gripping story and plenty of twists. One of the most original films ever! If you have the DVD there is an Easter egg to watch it in the correct chronological order of events, brilliant!

My favourite Marvel Heros at it again
I absolutely LOVED this film. Actually, I think I enjoyed it more than the first, which I didn't think was possible! It is brilliant, funny, witty - ( Baby Groot is adorable.) Since having seen this film, I have had the soundtrack on repeat - it is an instant mood booster, I have been quoting it non-stop, and I would gladly watch it again and again.

I really enjoyed this at the start, and even this series at the start was great, they bring in some many different characters from so many stories and lnik them amazingly.
It had gone on enough this series that the way it ended would of been brilliant closure to all the realms. But then they had to ruin it with the 5 minutes at the end

A film everyone needs to watch at least twice
This is, hands down, my favorite movie of all time. There are several reasons, but to name a few:
1. The big reveal was fresh in 1999. A twist that made you immediately want to watch the movie over again.
2. The story is an amazing and unique idea only a brilliant author could ever manifest. (Chuck Palahniuk)
3. The soundtrack, cinematography, and editing was practically perfect
4. The pace of the film is spot on and the characters are well rounded and portrayed
5. Just see it if you haven't

Flawless Drama
This show doesn't need a long review - it's too perfect. Too funny. Too clever. the chemistry between James Spader and William Shatner as Alan and Denny respectively draws you in and makes you wish they were your buddies, that you could hang out with them on the penthouse office balcony, talking philosophically about life with a cigar in one hand and a fine scotch whiskey in the other. The cast is superb and the writing brilliant...Thank you David E Kelly et al.
