Merissa (13816 KP) rated Fracture (The Secret Enemy Saga, #1) in Books

A brilliant concept intertwined with a very well-written story! One world has magic, one world has technology. Should they try to combine there is a chance that both will perish. But what happens when someone from one falls in love with someone from the other?
This is the tale of what happens when one world tries to cross over to the other and the people who are trying to stop this from happening. There are noble kings, honourable assasins, seers, traitors, inner evil that is wrapped up in beauty and stallions with attitude to name but a few.
I loved how the worlds intermingle and how someone from one world would try to comprehend the other. The characters all have depth and are fantastic to read about. You will become involved with each and every one as their story unfolds.
Highly recommended to all fantasy readers!

Bloody good fun
This could possibly be one of the few sequels that actually surpasses the original. Not only does it start off by recapping (and slightly alterating) the first film, it goes completely over the top with the gore and physical effects and it is brilliant.
The effects and the horror aspects are the best thing about this film. The gore is so brilliantly done and despite the fact that the physical effects look maybe a tad dated, they still look a lot better than any modern day effects. The humour and comedy fits in really well and the whole thing is just gloriously bonkers and a riot from start to finish. I think Bruce Campbell may be a tad too over the top at points (even for this film) but it was made in the 80s after all.
They don't make horror films like this anymore.

Robert De Niro (1 more)
Al Pacino
So after months of hype does this all star blockbuster live up to the hype...well yes it does.
It's been many years since we have had a great gangster epic and the master of those films finally brings one that will be enjoyed for many years to come.Unlike his other epics this film focuses more on the relationship between the main protagonist frank sheeran and his boss jimmy Joffa. The violence is not as extreme as you would find in goodfellas or casino.
The only tiny criticism I have was the de-aging process used on some of the actors, the faces seemed a little animated and fake.
De Niro was incredible and has to be a strong favourite for the best actor oscar, pacino and pesci were brilliant as well and could get a supporting actor oscar nomination.

A brilliant, well written story!
Dooku: Jedi Lost, as you can probably guess details the life of Count Dooku from his Jedi training, right up until his turn to the dark side, but all is not as it seems.
When looking up the chronology of canon Star Wars media, it usually appears as the first thing to read, but book actually takes place directly before The Clone Wars, as Ventress has just become Dooku's apprentice.
The book is actually Ventress trying to learn more about her new master from records while on a mission for him, but the bulk of the book is set in the past (in the form of a record anyway). But the mission and the tales from the records come together in the end to form one single, glorious ending!
A worthy, engrossing entry in the Star Wars canon, and truly worth a read!

Spellbound (Magic in Manhattan #1) by Allie Therin
SPELLBOUND is the first book in the Magic in Manhattan series, and I seriously can't wait for book two!
Set in the 1920's, you get a front seat to all that involves--Speakeasy's, prohibition, mobsters, Germans. It's all here, and gives you an insight into what life might have been like.
Rory and Arthur make for a perfect couple! I loved Rory's sass and his spitting alley cat fight. Arthur is the big softie with an even bigger heart, who just wants to help.
With a great cast of characters, this story was gripping from the very start. The pacing is smooth, there were no plot holes I fell through, and the world building is outstanding.
With humour, sass, peril, and betrayal, this book had it all for me. Highly recommended, and when is book two coming out? Absolutely brilliant.

Pretty good!
Thank you smash bomb!!! Finally got round to watching this movie that I received from the smash bomb competition.
Brilliant follow on from avengers endgame I felt it really brought spider-man up to date very advanced. Definitely worth the watch!
Young Peter Parker finally gets a summer off traveling with school, and with MJ the girl he has a crush on, but ofcourse for any super hero his work isn't too far behind as the four elements come to attack Venice right where they are, spider man meets mysterio a new hero and they join forces to try and stop whatever it is that keeps coming to cause harm to earth. Not going to ruin the story line but with a few twists and unexpected turns you see who is behind these attacks. Good action couldn't take my eyes off the screen!!
