Samuel has only had a year of freedom after being rescued by Duncan and, for various reasons, is content to keep his distance from one and all. Vela is also keeping her distance but hers are more specific. She is avoiding all the militia warriors as she has already lost her husband to the war and wants to avoid being hurt any further. However, the breh-hedden has other ideas and these two become entangled within its sensual and overpowering grasp. Samuel has his power that he is afraid of, as he can't control it. Vela also comes into her power of being able to travel via the Darkening. A match has been made but will they work together or fall apart?

This is a brilliant story that straddles two series without being at all complicated for those not completely au fait with them. It is exciting and thrilling, whilst being heartbreaking in places too. Samuel has the opportunity to pay Duncan back for rescuing him but will he be too late? This book will grip you and leave you breathless, both for the sexy scenes but also for the action and 'behind the scenes' you get.

Thoroughly enjoyable and definitely recommended to all.

Sweet as candy with no 'damsels' in distress to be found.
CASH is part of the Ruthless Daddies series but is the first one I have read so, obviously, you don't have to have read the series to read this. Now, I really want to, though, as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Brick was a brilliant character - Mr Normal compared to Jules being the Mob-man - but that doesn't mean he will take any attitude and, if you come at him, you'd better knock him out or he will finish the job. I loved how he Macgyvered his way out of things. No shrinking violet or damsel in distress, this one. Jules was besotted and caring, everything a Daddy should be. Their relationship was natural and smooth, and oh-so-caring.

The storyline with what was missing, the murders, the attempted murders, the threats - it all worked. I could follow along completely without having read any of the others. The secondary characters really helped to flesh this out, although I would have enjoyed Brick meeting Rowena!

All in all, this was a great read to a series I want to read more of! Definitely recommended if you want a sweet as candy story.

I want to get lost in their world again.
TWILIGHT HEIST is the second book in the Outlaws series, and we reunite with the honourable thieves! It's been a while since I read book one but within the first page, I was back. Alanna and John sniping at each other, Scar's dry wit, it's all here. This time Tuck and Leo take centre stage.

Both of them had unusual childhoods for whatever reason and both of them admit it has left a mark. Seeing Leo slowly come around to admitting he had feelings for Tuck was just wonderful, almost as good as seeing the surprise from Dan when he heard they had been together more than once.

This book was full of suspense, action, and a few steamy times. I still love Dan and Griff (how could I not?!) but Tuck and Leo are so cute together. I want to squidge them!!!

I am loving this series and can't wait for it to continue. I honestly don't care who comes next, I just want to get lost in their world again. A brilliant addition to the series and highly recommended by me.

A MATCHA MADE IN HELL is the first book in the Boyfriend Café series. Rhett is working hard for his Engineering degree, determined to put his High School behind him with all the associated memories. Easier said than done when his High School nemesis, Spencer Marsh, turns up at the same university.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The storyline of the reason behind the Café is sweet and I can absolutely see a need for it! I love how Albert is a not-so-silent Partner for Rhett's idea and also backs him whenever he can. The group of guys who work in the Café are all brilliant and I can't wait for their stories.

Back to Rhett and Spencer though - oh, man! These two!! Spencer's behaviour is understandable, as is his guilt for it. I liked the power exchange as Spencer and Rhett worked through their issues. However, being the sap I am, I did prefer it once 'something changed' and it became a healthier relationship.

This was a great story and a wonderful introduction to the series. I look forward to reading more and have no hesitation in recommending this book.

REVENANTS is the second book in the Tales of the Five Realms series, and I absolutely recommend you read book one first!

This is an intricate world and magic system that takes some concentration when you read, just to ensure you don't miss anything. Hagar and Jude are in their second year of university, together with their friends who appeared in book one. It was great to see relationships change due to circumstances and also being that little bit older and wiser.

The danger that hits the university is insidious and sneaks in before anyone really notices it. I loved the fact that our heroes were all affected. It wasn't something that they could avoid so it made perfect sense. The descriptions were chilling, which was brilliant. There were sad parts in here that affected me more than I thought they would. To find out what, you'll have to read the book!

The pacing is steady, leading up to a traumatic climax, followed by a time to breathe whilst leaving you wanting more. This was a great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more about the Five Realms and Hagar.

Death be Hell ( Terra Vane 😎
By Katie Everwood/Katie Epstein
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You’re damned if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t. At least that’s the position Terra and the team are in. One of their own is at risk, and time must be reversed to save them.

How will they do that? With no other option, they’ve got to travel through the Shadow Veil to the Demon Cities. A lust demon will lead the way, but she has a confession. Once her sinister ex finds out she’s returned, the darkness shadowing one of their own will be the least of their problems.

It’s time to for the team to go to hell and back.

Literally.

Oh this is so one of my favourite series I love it! I have missed these characters and this was the perfect book to get reacquainted with them. Bernard just breaks my heart and I love seeing a bit more about him and his trauma in this and I know he loves Terra still. Libbey has really changed my opinion of her this book I just loved her!!! I didn’t think we could beat the zombies but the trip to hell was just brilliant I loved the costumes so funny. This was a huge bonding instalment and it was really fun! Then the ending smacks you in the face not happy 😭

SHADE KISSED is the fourth book in the Phoenix Rising series, and we continue with Nicola waking up from a coma. Kyle is overjoyed but Nic isn't quite what he remembers. For a start, she can see! And secondly, she has no idea who she is or what she's done. Fun times.

This book is told from both Nicola and Kyle's perspectives and it goes back and forth from before and after Nicola wakes up. I found that a little confusing but only because I sometimes skipped the title headings to get to the story. I learnt my lesson!

It is a horrible situation for both Nicola and Kyle to be in, and neither of them thinks they're good enough for the other. I loved how West had a go at Rhys and told him exactly what was what. Plus, Aurelia and Mena's reactions were brilliant.

It was good to learn more about Nicola and just what she has endured during her three centuries, but I honestly can't wait to learn more! This book ended right in the middle of the story and my Kindle nearly hit the wall!

Absolutely recommended and I'm looking forward to the next already.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dulcinea Macgregor Craven is the only child of a wealthy English viscount. She is also a natural witch, one of a long line of Macgregor witches on her mother's side. When her parents are killed in a carriage accident, Dulcie doesn't think her life can get much worse. Then an old childhood friend returns to the country a little bit differently than he left and vows that nothing will stop him from possessing her and her magic.

In a desperate attempt to save her life, Dulcie summons a trio of vampires called The Righteous to her aid. With the help of The Righteous and four human friends, Dulcie attempts to thwart her enemy's plans to capture her and use her magic for his own evil purposes.

Even as she falls in love for the first time, Dulcie realizes that she may have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save the world.

I absolutely loved this book historical fiction meets urban fantasy just couldn’t put it down. Dulci is brilliant and I love the Righteous especially Justine. Not what I was expecting at all. As Dulcie becomes CIN she develops more and into a much stronger character and female lead! I’m hoping to learn more on the werewolf “woof” in the next book.

Prison of Hope ( Hellequin Chronicles book 4)
By Steve McHugh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Long ago, Olympian gods imprisoned the demon Pandora in a human—Hope—creating a creature whose only purpose was chaos and death. Remorseful, the gods locked Pandora away in Tartarus, ruled by Hades.

Now, centuries later, Pandora escapes. Nate Garrett, a 1,600-year-old sorcerer, is sent to recapture her and discovers her plan to disrupt the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, killing thousands in a misplaced quest for vengeance.

Fast forward to modern-day Berlin, where Nate has agreed to act as guardian on a school trip to Germany to visit Hades at the entrance to Tartarus. When Titan King Cronus becomes the second ever to escape Tartarus, Nate is forced to track him down and bring him back, to avert a civil war between those who would use his escape to gain power.

I love love love this series! This has to be the best one yet. I really like the way the author uses the Greek gods and mythology as well as bringing all the myths and legends into the story without it getting silly. Nate is just brilliant I love his relationship with Tommy and other characters. I like the back story of Nate’s life that runs along with whatever he’s facing in current times. It’s such a good series.
