MASK OF THE ETERNAL MOON is the second book in the Legends of Elessia series and should be read in sequence as this one starts not long after the other finishes.

With the characters now known to me, I was looking forward to getting back into their story. There are multiple storylines going on in this book, and it took a while for me to get them straight in my head. Lucius and Oskar are still together, searching for Memphala. Donata and Hilda go on their own quest. Gotthilf and Helga are at home, and Memphala has her own story too. Not only that but Silas and Frida are new characters that are introduced and they play a big role. So, yep, there's a lot going on!

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book, with all of its twists and turns. Nothing is as expected and the surprises come from every direction. There is action on every page and the pacing moves it along perfectly. There are now slumps in the writing that I found. A brilliant ending that definitely leaves you wanting more.

An amazing story that I am thoroughly enjoying and have no hesitation in recommending!

Sometimes work can be fun and H.O.T!
HERS, UNITED is the fifth book in this series and can be read as a standalone, although there is an overall story arc that develops through this novel.

Riley is a Selenian psychologist, one who has been on the dull end of jobs ever since it came out she was an alien sympathiser before the revolution. This leads to her being called to work when everyone else is indulging in 'fun.' What she finds is Talon and Dagger, angry with each other, and she is determined to get to the bottom of it.

Riley, Talon, and Dagger are H.O.T. together when they're having fun, but when Dagger is kidnapped by Traditionalists, they have to learn to work together too. This also leads to some deep thinking about just what they mean to each other. It was brilliant seeing Kaitlyn and Roth again, and I'm happy with how they were able to help Riley.

I thought the pacing of this book was perfect, and the story arc just helped move their personal stories along. This is a series that I am thoroughly enjoying and I can't wait to see what happens next. Highly recommended by me.

"This is a little cracker of a book."
THE PANTOMIME PRINCE is a short but oh-so-sweet seasonal story about Teddy filling in on stage for his pregnant sister. Receiving flowers each performance is bittersweet when he longs for someone of his own but knowing the flowers are sent for his sister.

I won't go into detail about the story itself as I really don't want to ruin what is a little cracker of a book. Teddy makes his feelings known to the reader, giving me pause as my heart broke a little for him. Basil was a brilliant addition that had me laughing out loud.

My only wish would be that this was a longer story. I wish I could have delved a little deeper into the characters and their backstories. There are so many things I need to know. Samantha SoRelle did an amazing job of creating a short story that grabs your attention and characters that hold it from page to page. And for that reason, I want more. I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to Teddy and Basil yet.

A fantastic read that is absolutely recommended by me.

A LITTLE CHRISTMAS: DANNY takes a leaf out of Cinderella's story. Danny was the pampered prince until his parents died and, according to the Will, left him nothing. However, Danny doesn't believe that and will stay, to the detriment of his health, to try and find the proper Will. Danny's uncle Josiah and his boy, Billy, do everything they can to make him leave but Danny is stubborn.

I loved this story! Danny is a sweetheart with a spine of steel. I know he thinks he has nowhere else to go, but to stay there and suffer the abuse as he did... wow. Romeo is caring and concerned about Danny. He can't believe that the other members of this so-called exclusive club could turn their back on him. He does have a wobble but, ultimately, he comes through.

I adored Romeo and his friends. I loved the whole story but after reading about Griff, Jem, etc., I need to find out which books they are in by this author. Josiah and Billy got what they deserved as far as I am concerned!

A brilliant addition to the series, and HIGHLY recommended by me.

Mei has been followed by Kellias as a punishment, ever since she annoyed Lucifer with her attitude when he upset her best friend. She has tried to lose him whenever she can but she never seems to have much luck. When she is sent on a mission to see who is trying to make wildfire with Kellias will she finally get rid of him or find his value?

This is book number 3 in the hellfire series and I have enjoyed every single story in this series. As soon as I had finished one book I was ready to read the next one. There are a couple of novellas as well that I will be reading and I am eagerly waiting for book number 4!

The way that Ella has written these are fresh and exciting. Lots of anticipation about what could happen next and whom it involves. Although this story contains characters from previous books, I think you could read it as a stand-alone. Personally, I recommend you read them all as they are fast-paced, romantic, passionate, and gripping. I really can't praise them high enough they are brilliant!

CAUGHT is the fourteenth book in the Gold Hockey series but you can read it as a standalone. This time, it's Charlie's story and we get to find out just what drove him back home. It's also Kacee's story, as she learns that sometimes it's okay to let people in.

Told from both perspectives, you get an up-close and personal viewpoint on just how they have both survived what they have gone through, and how they interact with each other, making their rough edges smoother. It also shows how it can be easier to give to someone else, rather than receive anything for yourself.

This is an emotional story that will make you laugh and feel sorrow as Charlie struggles with what he has going on. To be honest, I would have liked a bit more back-story about Ji-Ho and how he treated Charlie, but that may just be me wanting to see the train wreck before I get my HEA.

I am loving the Gold family and can't wait for the next book. A brilliant addition to the series that I have no hesitation in recommending.

SCORCHING THE EARTH finishes the KTS series, and it only seems fitting that we finish with Hannah and Lily. Hannah is Team Leader and Lily is her second-in-command. Both of them are forces to deal with but can they deal with each other?

This story is told from both perspectives which is a good thing. You have to stay on your toes but, for me, it helped to enhance the story. Lily and Hannah's voices are very different, which is no surprise as they have very different personalities. You find out more about their pasts and their present and hopes for the future. Some of the others obviously show up (on the same team) but this really is Hannah and Lily's story.

It brought to a satisfying conclusion the overall story arc, including who the mole was. I won't say any more on that as I don't want to spoil anything.

This was a great read and a brilliant finale to a wonderful series. I have loved each book and have no hesitation in recommending both this book and the series. Just, please, make sure you read them in order so you know what's going on!

BECOMING BROOKLYN is a standalone novel that has the potential for a series. A series I really hope happens!

Brooklyn is a 9/11 baby, her father died in the terrorist attack. During a memorial service, terrorists attack again and Brooklyn, along with five others, are told the impossible -- that their parents had superpowers and worked with the government to stop terrorists. They are given the choice to follow in their footsteps. But things aren't always as they appear and they all have hard lessons to learn.

This was a great story. It is filled with action, adventure, and a touch of romance. I loved how the story panned out, and how they worked together, which made the ending even more jaw-dropping.

The characters are all well thought out and play to their own strengths. Told from Brooklyn's point of view, obviously, we learn more about her, but through her eyes, we learn about the others too. Brilliant storytelling!

I don't know if there are any plans for a sequel or series, but I would love to hear more from Brooklyn and see where the future takes her.

A fantastic contemporary superpower novel that I have no hesitation in recommending.

LUCK OF THE DRAW is a light fantasy novella about warring kingdoms and arranged marriages to help seal the peace treaty. Obren is happy with male or female partners, but when he finds out who he is to marry, he has reservations. After all, he did kill the prince's previous partner on the battlefield! But it was war and maybe Dukan has his own secrets.

This was a great read that I read in one sitting. The characters were well-fleshed out given it was a novella, and the world-building made complete sense. I was happy with how the arranged marriages worked out as no one felt forced apart from the situation. Obren and Dukan, obviously, were my favourites and I loved the interplay between them as they took the time to learn about each other.

I would love to return to this world and learn more about the marriages and the kingdoms they live in. And if we managed to catch up with Obren and Dukan, then so much the better!

A brilliant novella that I thoroughly enjoyed, although I would have obviously loved it to be longer! A great read and definitely recommended by me.

MINE, BODY AND SOUL is the trilogy that tells Lenny and Nathan's story. I first met them in MADE TO SUBMIT, the third book in the La Trattoria Di Amore series, and I needed more.

My heart went out to both of these down-but-not-out men, and I couldn't wait for them to fit their pieces together to form a whole. There is no rushing in this set, and I loved that! I loved the slow burn, the getting to know each other, the concerns and worries every new relationship has. And let's face it, these two have a couple more worries and concerns than a 'normal' couple would. They are both scarred, internally and externally, and are trying to find their way. And they were given the time to do so! Brilliant.

Not only do we get Lenny and Nathan's stories, but we are also tantalised with new characters, that I now need to know more about too! Isaac and Ferron, and Jake and Bailey, for example.

This was a slow-burn, gorgeous read that I devoured and loved every word. Absolutely recommended by me.
