Book Tour: Loreena's Gift by Colleen M. Story This is a story about a girl with a special talent. She gets into quite a few bad things. She finds out what her brother gets into. If she can ever get him out? She loves her brother so much that she does something to save him.

She's then pulled into a sinner kind of a life. In the process, she may have found her love of her life. Tough to survive, she got to do something that is within her power and a secret.

Can she save her brother and herself or will she die as well? Her life in the afterlife is different than when she's out of the afterlife.

The author does get your attention and pulls you in. Have ever been wondering what it's like in your afterlife? You can see what it's like by reading this. Is it different for each living person? That is still not answered for it really could be.

I love this book (currently reading book 5 of the series) because of the world that Clare relates. Whilst it contains the fantasy ideas expressed in different novels; it brings them all together in a unique and interesting way. Controversially, I enjoy the brother-sister plot line the novel introduces to the budding romance of Clary and Jace; it means that we are not reading the same cliche teen romance. People think it is weird but SPOILER ALERT they are not actually brother and sister but allows character progression and other storylines to happen. This allows the romance to occur naturally and when we can see that the feelings are genuine and true. Overall, Clare has produced a great novel to begin her series and leaves reader wanting to know more and delve deeper into the Shadowhunter world.

This is the story about a young girl, second-generation Irish, Francie Nolan, growing up around 1912 in a tenement. The mother, Katie, works cleaning apartments to bring home enough money for food and very little else. The father, Frankie, is a singing waiter, but when he finds work, he ends up drinking most of his wages. He's kind to Francie, but he's an unreliable alcoholic. Her brother, Neely, is Katie's favorite, and is a typical brother to Francie. He's mostly off trying to be tough with the other neighborhood boys. Francie spends her time reading, with her goal to read through all the authors in her neighborhood library, and goes alphabetically.

Tell Me a Mitzi by Lore Segal has three stories within one about Mitzi and her younger brother and their daily tales. The tales are a little slices of life with whimsy, a touch of fantasy, and a lot of repetition. The stories were a little long, my mind wandered, and I suspect that would be true with some children too. Mitzi was clever, independent, sneaky, and demanding. She and her brother kept their poor mother hopping! Children will relate to her and enjoy her antics, even if the telling of those antics is less than inspiring.

I received this book from NetGalley via Dover Publications in exchange for an honest review.

When Nathalie is interviewed about how being adopted effected her life, although initially she denies that it made any difference to her, she suddenly discovers a need to find her birth parents, and insists that her brother David (also adopted) do the same. This takes them down a road that neither of them were ever prepared to travel, and yet, are both, inexplicably drawn towards.

With "Brother and Sister" Joanna Trollope gives us a parallel study in human nature, but she does so with such simple artistry that you'll find yourself compelled to read this straight through. I played this when it first came out, stopped for a while, then me and my younger brother got back into it. It gives me a reason to take a walk everyday, and it's so much fun playing with my siblings and friends.

Can Lindsey Find Her Brother Before Time Runs Out?
Lindsey Norris is getting ready for the weekly Crafternoon meeting, but she finds a surprise guest hiding out in their usual meeting room – her brother Jack. She wasn’t expecting to see him for a few more weeks when her entire family arrived for Christmas. He begs her to keep his presence a secret and promises to explain everything after a nap. Lindsey returns after the meeting, but instead of her brother, she finds a dead body on the floor. Who is the dead man? Where is her brother? And how much danger is he in?

I originally picked up this book thinking I’d get a Christmas themed cozy. It was quickly obvious that wasn’t going to be the case, but that is hardly a complaint at all. The story was so strong I didn’t want anything slowing it down. It kept my attention the entire time, from the fast-paced opening until it reached the action-packed climax. The love triangle is still going strongly here, although it seems obvious to me which way Lindsey is leaning. It doesn’t take over from the main mystery, and it provides some fun humor along the way. One of the guys gets some nice character development. All the regulars are here and very strong. The new characters don’t get a whole lot of page time, but they do come alive with what little page time they do have. This is a great book that will please fans of the series.
