The Gift That Keeps On Giving
The Game- is a excellent mystery drama thriller. The suspense, the mystery, the twist. David Fincher did a excellent job. Micheal Douglas and Sean Penn also did a excellent job.
The plot: Nicholas Van Orton (Michael Douglas) is a successful banker who keeps mostly to himself. When his estranged brother Conrad (Sean Penn) returns on his birthday with an odd gift -- participation in a personalized, real-life game -- Nicholas reluctantly accepts. Initially harmless, the game grows increasingly personal, and Orton begins to fear for his life as he eludes agents from the mysterious game's organizers. With no one left to trust and his money gone, Orton must find answers for himself.
Its a excellent film and a must see.

This is the story of Framboise – no, not a bottle of raspberry liqueur (thank heavens), but rather the woman by that name from a farm on the river Loire in the French village of Les Laveuses. This is partially the story of Framboise’s troubled childhood with her brother (named Casis), sister (Reine-Claude) and especially her unwell and widowed mother (who was, of course, an amazing cook) during the years of WWII and Nazi occupied France. It is also the story of her no less troubling old age – accounted from the time she returns to the village in her ‘retirement’, in order to open a creperie. Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Brother in Books

I seem to have a thing for Yaoi--Boys Love--and since I like my M/M Romances, why wouldn't I?
This was kinda cute once it got going. I wasn't sure what it was going to be like but once I started it, I fell into it.
To me, it read like a typical M/M Romance--a friends to lovers sort of thing, only they were step brothers.
I just have to admit I like to see it happen, because I don't always have the best imagination with books, I don't picture my characters in my head like others do. So having the comic strip helps me a lot.
Off to start Brother 2 to see if it's as good as this one.

Hmm...well it was all going so well up until the 60% mark or so but then it all seemed to change focus and go from being about Dusty and Asher to being about that POS Archer and him being a good for nothing a-hole.
Don't get me wrong, Dusty and Asher proved that they loved each other in that time but I really wasn't interested in reading about Asher's arse of a brother after that first 25% and the mix-up.
Not as good as the first one in my opinion.
I noticed that they've left it open for a Lane and Josh book and I'd be interested in reading it if they ever got around to writing it.
