I'm still liking this but the romance aspect is taking a little too long to get there now. I guess it can be hard to have a relationship with five brothers but come on! As for the whole Sol/Dweller/God thing. I kinda want everyone to get what they deserve right now. Dweller's to get rights, Sol's to stop being so horrible to the Dweller's and the God's to stop meddling.

Off to start book 3!

"Okay, back to black and white, a (real) documentary from the talented Maysles Brothers and Charlotte Zwerin about door-to-door Bible sellers. I probably shouldn’t say this, but Richard Linklater sent me a bootleg copy he made when he screened it at the Austin Film Society in the late eighties. I loved the handheld camera work and how each salesman is depicted as a nuanced, dramatic character. Deeply moving, but not without a sense of humor."

"These are two of the ripped-from-the-headlines social realist films that Warner Brothers made in the 1930s. I Am a Fugitive is like a classical tragedy, majestic and horrifying, and very thorough in its presentation of systematic injustice. Heroes For Sale is more melodramatic, covering a mixed bag of problems – drug addiction, displacement of workers through automation, and violent labor struggles. Wellman used real workers and homeless people in some of these scenes, which increases the impact."
