I love Tarantino as much as the next guy. This movie was fantastic. The acting was on point, and the fight scene with Bruce Lee was BRILLIANT (don't let anyone tell you different). I loved everything right up until the climax. I'm down with ultraviolence and gore, but that final scene was just not enjoyable for me.

Could there be a better action movie? Don't think so...
When you first heard about Bruce Willis being in an action movie, your first thought had to be "Oh, no! Not the star of Moonlighting" and "Blind Date"! Kind of similar to Michael Keaton in Batman or Heath Ledger as The Joker.

The movie is one of a very few that helped define the modern action genre and propelled Bruce Willis to the complete dickhead he is today ?. He is very believable as John McClane, the everyman who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The cat and mouse he eventually plays with the common thieves led by the menacing, perfect Alan Rickman has hardly been equaled.

The sequels eventually got a little (or a lot) stale, but the first film is an action classic and one of my faves!

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
2007 | Action, Mystery
Known simply as 'Die Hard 4.0' in the UK, this sees Bruce Willis's NYPD cop John McClane sent to pick up a computer hacker (Justin Long) for the FBI, before getting caught up in increasingly preposterous events.

But, then again, it's Die Hard!

Unlike the John McClane of the original, this version does come across as somewhat of an 80s throwback action figure, quipping his way throughout the film:

"You took down a helicopter, with a car?!?"
"I was out of bullets"

being, for me, the best line of the entire film (and that was changed in the Die Harder edition).

this is also the one that Bruce Willis, in a truck, faces off against a Harrier Jump Jet, and is the one where McClane is described by the villain as:

"a Timex watch in a digital age"

which should give you some idea of the general outline of the plot!

Michael Westen takes on the case of former bank robber Bruce Grossman who needs to return some items stolen from a vicious biker gang. The plot was wonderful and the characters were spot on to their TV selves. Great read, but a must read for fans of the series.

Okay, I'm rating this like I would have before Mark Ruffalo took over the role.

After the crapfest that was the first Hulk movie I was so glad the decided to make another one and I really loved Edward Norton's take on the character of Bruce Banner. The plot was action filled and I just found it to be an overall good not only superhero movie but and great action movie.

Tried to rewatch the first one since I only saw it once when it first came out in theaters and I couldn't even finish it, but I did really like this one.

I like the Ruffalo Hulk, it has potential for the movies such as the Avengers and the sequels.

Important question of the day. I have always been fortunate to have hair. I recently had a birthday. I'm now 47. The front of my hair has started to do that receding thing. I'm depressed about it.

The question is: do I keep leaving it alone assuming it will continue to look mike 50s Bill Murray hair or do I go full on Bruce Willis and get rid of it all?

Original and still the best
As good as Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy was, this is still my favourite and Keaton is still the best Dark Knight. Dark and broody and with eyebrows made for the role, Keaton delivers as both Batman and Bruce Wayne while Jack Nicholson hits the perfect balance of menace and camp with his Joker. Ps -Great soundtrack too
PPS - the Batmobile has never looked so cool

Lots of explosions
To be honest I can’t remember the other two although I have watched them. This was good with some funny moments especially the very last scene. It was all very Die Hard and one wonders if he is the new Bruce Willis. As my son said they must have had great fun setting up the explosions because there are a lot. On the whole very enjoyable.

"First song is a John Hiatt song. I love this guy. I get in many arguments with my wife who loves Bruce Springsteen about how much better John Hiatt is as a songwriter. But this song is called “Dust Down A Country Road” and it’s actually in the beginning of the movie, Road Hard, and it just captures the flavor and the feel of a lonely guy on the road."
