Imagine the 90s Mortal Kombat movie crossed with an episode of Power Rangers featuring a long haired, sword wielding Nicolas Cage and Tony Jaa. Although that might sound like something that we all would want, it turns out that is in fact, not at all what any of us want.

"This record was 1958 and it was already a 25-year retrospective so that means it spans from 1932/3 to 1958! It came to me at the same time as all this new wave stuff and I was really interested in all the stuff Cage was doing with prepared piano, and there’s a bunch of prepared piano on my new record. Between those pieces and orchestral works for multiple players where Cage was using people banging on metal break drums and stuff, it was really sounding like the gamelan music I was listening to at the same time and I just found it to be super inventive. John Cage was defining a new way of thinking about music in the 20th century and in a way his definition included all of noise and all of ambient sound and all of these things that became movements for us in the 20th century, like Eno’s whole discreet music and ambient thing; or noise music from extreme harsh Japanese noise to whatever we called Neubaten or what Sonic Youth were doing, if you called that noise music; or the Boredoms or Merzbow which is more extreme, there’s no singing, there’s no guitars, it’s just harsh noise – this music opened the door for all that stuff. It’s amazing music in it’s own right, and yet some of it also explores really low volume like super quiet aspects of music where background sounds and people coughing – well that’s part of what you’re hearing in the experience too. So I felt like that record is so important that it defined a gargantuan giant of the 20th Century, which is John Cage, but it defined all these different bits of music that even if people later didn’t realise their music stemmed from that, in some way it did. Everything from 60s onwards, no matter what you were doing outside of rock & roll there was some kind of influence from Cage there."

Resident Evil: another one?
After 2 great movies and a forgettable 3rd, alice is back to tell us her name is Alice, and she remembers everything (again)
In this 4th outing in the Resident Evil saga we see our survivor (ugh, what's her name again?) Find a group of survivors including chris Redfield who seems untrustworthy and locked in a cage (if a prison can't contain him, a cage won't) a returning claire Redfield and other forgettable badass characters.
This time trapped in a flooded building, that's surrounded by the dead and with time running out, Rick....I mean Alice will lead this rag tag group of survivors outta danger and into the unknown.
Still it helps us recover from Extinction...am I right?

The plot: When erudite black playwright Andrew Sterling (Samuel L. Jackson) moves to a predominantly white suburb, the buffoonish local police surround his home, assuming he's a burglar. To avoid a scandal, unscrupulous Chief Tolliver (Dabney Coleman) conscripts low-rent criminal Amos Odell (Nicolas Cage) to break in and take Sterling hostage. But Amos and Andrew soon realize Tolliver has no plans to let either survive, so they must put their differences aside and work together to get out alive.

This movie is funny as hell, both Nicolas Cage and Samuel L Jackson are excellent. Also Brad Dourif is funny in this movie.

I dont why this film got bad reviews because it is great. A highly reccordmend movie.

Cage of Bones ( Brennan & Esposito book 3)
By Tania Carver
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Workers demolishing a building in Colchester make a horrifying discovery in the basement: a cage made of human bones ...with a feral child inside. As Phil Brennan and Marina Esposito investigate, they expose the trail of a serial killer who has been operating undetected for thirty years - a killer with a disturbing connection to Brennan's father.

I absolutely love this author duo! You know it’s a good book when you get that itchy feeling towards the end! This was a gruesome idea for a book but then they never disappoint. Just brilliant I just have no more words I highly recommend.

Talk about a fun ride of a movie! I'm talkin' full speed in an old Firebird with the t-tops off, the wind blowing through your mullet, and doing doughnuts in a parking lot while motor boatin' your main squeeze kinda fun. It's Nicholas Cage trying to kill his kids, what more do you need to know?!

"John Cage sings to me in that calm gentle voice of his every day. Just sitting here while writing this — crick crack of logs burning in woodstove, almost silent sound of a distant wind — I am reminded that the universe is a constantly changing song. The most beautiful music in existence is when we let our minds be silent."

"A book about mountains, loss, death, life, living Zen and everything else in between. Living on a mountain myself, Peter reminds me that the mountains and stones are alive. Friends that I speak to daily. Peter Matthiessen, together with Gary Snyder, Arne Naess and John Cage are my teachers on how to grow older. With vigor, elegance and spark."

Just like the cage Borat's daughter aspires to live in, the comedy of Sacha Baron Cohen is golden. You'll be able to control your laughter about as well as our government has controlled the corona virus. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is pure genius and absolutely hilarious. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's very nice.

I watched this movie many years ago and couldn't remember the name of it. All I could remember was a hospital scene and a young Nicholas Cage. It's an older movie and I tried not to think of that's when I rated it an 8. I think for a movie made in 1986 it's a pretty dang good one.
