"I love it because I feel like I’ve got an insight of what my dad was kind of like. Also, in the movie I did with [director Richard Linklater — Everybody Wants Some!!] too, it was just cool to see this is kind of — like, my dad could’ve been one of these guys easily. It just shows that nothing’s changed. You’re relating to your parents — or any generation really — without having to be in front of them. It’s a really cool time-travelling-of-the-soul type of movie, which I really dig. It really holds up. It’s timeless. It sounds cliché — saying “timeless” — because that’s what I’m going to say about every single one of these movies, but the thing that’s cool about that is that there’s nothing close to what I’ve experienced. I didn’t have the same hair. I didn’t have the same music. I didn’t have the same clothes. I didn’t have the same kind of approach to anything, really, but I feel like I’ve been there still. That’s really cool when a movie can do that. You can see behind the mask and everybody can still relate. It’s really cool, and that movie does that."

After having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first in this series, The Jigsaw Man, I was itching to get my grubby little eyes on this and I wasn't disappointed.

This can be read as a standalone but you will get more out of this book if you've read The Jigsaw Man but I wouldn't say it was essential.

Once again we are treated to a great story, fantastic characters, twists and tension all told at a great pace. Warning! There are some pretty grim scenes and gruesome descriptions so if that's not your thing, I would probably give this a miss.

This is quite a long book and I can usually lose a bit of interest part way through but not with this; I was totally invested from start to finish and I would happily recommend this to others who enjoy dark police procedurals.

I am looking forward to the next instalment to find out what other twisted thoughts Ms Matheson can come up with to intrigue and shock and I must give thanks to HQ and NetGalley for enabling me to read The Binding Room and to share my thoughts.

This series just gets better and better with each book. While this is certainly quite a long read, it winds up being very rewarding as the last half of it is filled with enough shocks and twists to leave one's head spinning. I can't really go into very much detail about what happens so as not to inadvertently spoil anything for anyone who has managed to avoid finding out the major details thus far, but suffice it to say, that it is in this book when it becomes apparent that surviving through this epic story is a challenge that an increasingly slim number of characters appear to be up to. I can honestly say that I don't really know where exactly the story is going to go next, but I am very excited to find out!

The story line in this book is amazing. The twists it takes keeps you reading. I couldn't put it down. (0 more)
The only thing I can say is that the beginning drags on a bit too far. It's one of those books that you have to read for a while before you get sucked in. (0 more)
A book that keeps you guessing.
The twists and turns in this book are great! I couldn't put it down once the story got going. I would just about have it figured it out (or so I thought) and there was another plot twist. Kept me interested to the very end!!

When I first heard of Riverdale I didn't think I would like it but watching it made my head turn into a forever loving fan of the show. (1 more)
Each episode had gripping and compelling story lines and a huge lot of what if, what could happen and shock moments that I didn't think would happen
The last season that's out on Netflix has been a little boring sad to say with a possible alien story being brought into this. They can do better (1 more)
Also why is Hiram still a bad guy I thought he would of wallowed in potty or other mafia men would of killed him by now?

fantastic read
Wow. well what can I say this book has so much packed into the pages. This story has twists and turns, suspense, intense chemistry and hot and steamy scenes. This story will have you hooked from the first page till the very last one. The story line flows really well and is very interesting. This is a very good addition to the misadventures series. I can't wait to read more from this author and this series in the future.

Highly recommended

Jules Verne's classic which, I have to say, I could not help but think of the 80's cartoon while reading.

In case you've been living in a cave: late 19th century (1870s, I think) adventure, in which Phileas (or Willie, in the cartoon) Fogg makes a bet that he can travel around the world in 80 days - it's all there in the title! - accompanied by his valet Passepartout.

Set aside the colonialism of the time, the (sometimes) cringe-worthy racial stereotypes, and just enjoy the travel! Mind, there's no hot-air balloons involved ...

I'm sad that this will only be a trilogy, but, it certainly went out with a bang.

Kim is in Berlin under the guise of being an official's wife. Let's just say, that lasts all of 5 seconds. The story is quickly paced, and a tad predictable. There weren't really any loose ends that we're tied up. I definitely plan on buying this series of books so I can read them again.

I wouldn't mind seeing more books about people with talents, perhaps set a little further into the future, or in the past.

I've had my alexa for a couple of weeks now and have to say it really is fantastic. It was so easy to setup, literally took a few minutes and she was up and running. I use her everyday from the minute I get up to the minute I go to bed. I placed her in my kitchen which is adjacent to my lounge. I found this the most appropriate placement for her as I use her daily for timers when I'm cooking. I love the personalised routines you can create, my morning routine is "alexa, good morning" where she will then tell me a random 'on this day' fact, my daily schedule which is linked to my phone's calendar, the local weather and then she will play my chosen radio station. At night I say "alexa goodnight" where she will then wish me goodnight.
The app is really easy to use and I love looking through all the widgets that you can enable alexa to do, such as: speak in Chewbacca language or tell me a joke. I personally like the daily affirmations or life quotes. You can also meditate with her, that's quite interesting.
The reason my review is 9/10 is because there is an extra subscription charge for Amazon music, 3.99 a month I believe. Perhaps it would be out of kindness for Amazon to allow alexa product buyers a free subscription.
However, I do have the radio on all day anyway so don't really request her to play specific songs.
I'm quite excited to purchase additional alexas to use in other rooms. The drop in ability is fantastic, I drop in on my families devices to check all is well or to have a quick chat, they're like walkie talkies. Brilliant. This ability can be disabled easily for times you don't want anyone dropping in on awkward situations or during the night. I also find the drop in ability good for when I'm away, I can drop in on my cat and talk to him, obviously I don't get a response but I know he can hear me.
Lastly, she's also nice to talk to if you're lonely.
Overall, I'm very much enjoying my alexa and her wide variety of abilities.
