Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2414 KP) rated The Cat Who Talked Turkey (Cat Who... #26) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
It's the beginning of summer, and things are hoping in Pickax County. They are breaking ground for a new bookstore and the town of Brrr is celebrating 200 years. Oh yeah, and a body is found on Qwill's property. But since none of the characters seem to care about that, the mystery kind of whimpers along. If you love the characters, you'll enjoy the book, but there's hardly any plot. Par for the course for the later books of the series.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Killing Eve in TV
Oct 31, 2018 (Updated Jun 7, 2020)
Great production (1 more)
Jodie Comer
Darkly funny thriller
A truly binge worthy show. I got through the 8 episodes in just a few sessions. A mix of cat and mouse spy thriller as a Mi6 agent tracks a female assassin. It has plenty of often dark humour to go with it. The first few episodes made me think of the Hitman 47 game as the assassin goes to great lengths to make their hit. It slows down a bit for the last couple of episodes and the storyline became a little bit odd. Overall though it's a very enjoyable, classy series.

Cori June (3033 KP) rated The Iron Jackal (A Tale of the Ketty Jay) in Books

Darien Frey may have let his crew into a bit of trouble when going for an ancient relic. Now Frey is cursed and his only hope is his crew: a former slave, a half-mane who battles with her deamon side, a deamonist running from his past, an over cocky pilot, a drunk surgeon, and a fraidy-cat pilot that jumps at shadows. This captain is good at getting into trouble and better at ousting dangerous secrets.
I love the chapters in this book they have a small summery usually with three to four small descriptions and it's not always what you think.

Lyndsey Gollogly (2893 KP) rated The Girl Who Sees (Sasha Urban #1) in Books

I'm an illusionist, not a psychic.
Going on TV is supposed to advance my career, but things go wrong.
Like vampires and zombies kind of wrong.
My name is Sasha Urban, and this is how I learned what I am.
This was very different to things I've read lately. Yes it has supernatural elements but at first you're not sure what you are getting or where it's going. I really enjoyed reading, it had a freshness to it. The characters are just fascinating right down to Rose and her cat! Highly recommended also great to discover a new author!
