A Continuation of Greatness
Ditches the prison setting and places our characters on the run. The scope of the plot has been wildly increased. New characters round out the cast each with their own motivations. We get a very grand game of cat and mouse.

The show continues to keep you on the edge of your seat. Shocking character deaths and big moments that change the pace for the rest of the season pop up regularly. The big risks it takes, make for a more tense and enjoyable season.

While the tense, tight, and dangerous corridors of the prison are missed, the writers show that they can keep viewers interested and fearing for their favorite characters even with a bigger playground. This immediately creates more interest and intrigue.

It's an expansion and improvement on what was an already excellent show.

The concepts and characterizations are greater than ever, and the complex nature of a prison escape comes flowing with liquid tension, and at all times it grips you with a curious state of empathy.

What an amazing book! I was intrigued by the rather minimal plot synopsis on the jacket and so had to check this book out, and I am very glad I did. I found the principal character of Harry August to be engaging and interesting and quite enjoyed all the ancillary characters as well, but it was the plot that really hooked me on this one. Without giving anything away I'll just say that it involves reincarnation, time travel, quantum physics, espionage, world history, revenge, and in its own weird way, love. It is somewhat unfair to pigeonhole the book into the science fiction category, as it is really somewhat more of a cat-and-mouse suspense story, although seeing as the plot spans several decades, repeatedly, it does seem as though sci-fi could be the best fit. No matter where you would categorize though, this is easily my favorite read of the year so far, and quite possibly one of my favorite books of all time. Absolutely brilliant.

Good quirky drama
The first series was a bit of a surprise hit. A quirky English drama about a MI6 agent tracking a flamboyant female assassin across Europe. It is very funny at times, in a typical English kinda way. Whilst also being quite violent as well.
The 2nd series picks up 30 seconds after the end of the first series. It's very similar to the first in terms of style, humor. This time a second assassin seems to be in play and Eve makes connections to a bigger plot. It's still just as fun as the first series. It's quite short with 8 episodes around 40 minutes each. I just preferred the cat and mouse storyline of the first series. Fans will love it just as much.

Jake Matthews is a US Marshall, and a damn good one, at that. However, a notorious killer by the name of Max Baxter has chosen Jake, by name, to play a part in his little games. Max turned himself in to Jake after the FBI failed to catch him on their own, and now, four years later, he's broken himself out of prison and is on the run again. And guess who's invited to catch him this time?

This story is a real attention-grabber within the first couple chapters. It's also a rather exciting cat-and-mouse game, as we bounce back and forth between Jake and Max, learning about each one from his own eyes as well as from the other's. Max is back at his usual tricks, but he's directly involving Jake for this one, and it will take all the Marshal's training, intelligence, and cunning to not only outsmart the killer but save his victims, as well. Will he succeed, or will Jake be yet another notch on Max's belt? You'll have to find that out for yourself.

My first cinema review in 7 months glad to be back okay not my first choice due to the film I was meant to see having technical issues but never mind there's always tomorrow
On to the movie itself people of certain age would remember watching old tom and Jerry cartoons including me and I used to love them as child always cheering on Jerry mouse trying to escape tom the cat and always exceeding.
So watching the movie brought memories of those Saturday mornings the humor the slapstick the pain on Tom's face as he's hit by some object or being chased by spike the bulldog all there. And there's the human acting not so great saving grace for me is chloe grace moretz who steals the show for me but there wasn't enough Ken jeong for me just needed a bit more then I would have been happy. Overall glad to be back In my local cineworld again

Time Is On My Side
Fallen- is one of those movies from the late 90's that has to do something with the bible, evil spirits and god. You had films like "Ends of Days", "Stigmata", "Spawn", "The Devil's advocate" and more. Fallen is one of them.

The plot: After witnessing the execution of serial killer Edgar Reese (Elias Koteas), whom he arrested, police detective John Hobbes (Denzel Washington), and his partner, Jonesy (John Goodman), are soon investigating another murderer whose mode of operation is eerily similar to Reese's. In the course of the investigation, Hobbes meets theology professor Gretta Milano (Embeth Davidtz), who introduces him to the world of the occult and the possibility that an evil spirit is behind the killings.

I like the concept, is different and unique. Its a cat and mouse chase between a human being and a evil spirit that passing on from person to person. So you don't even know who is possessed.

The supernatural portion is very good. The suspense and thrills are good. Not enough action though. Other than that its a good supernatural film.

Smoke and Iron ( The Great Library #4 )
By Rachel Caine
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The opening moves of a deadly game have begun. Jess Brightwell has put himself in direct peril, with only his wits and skill to aid him in a game of cat and mouse with the Archivist Magister of the Great Library. With the world catching fire, and words printed on paper the spark that lights rebellion, it falls to smugglers, thieves, and scholars to save a library thousands of years in the making...if they can stay alive long enough to outwit their enemies.

So it’s all coming to an end! I’m so sad to see the series end but also so grateful I found it. Book one took two attempts to get through but once I had I didn’t look back.
I can’t imagine living in a world where The Library rules what we are exposed to where it is so corrupt it causes a world war. We all expect it from religion or politics but not from books and librarians. This is such a brilliant series to sink into.
Just a shame we are at its end!!

They drew First Blood, not me!
Sylvester Stallone will probably always be best remembered for his portrayal of boxer Rocky Balboa, but a close second is his role and character of troubled Vietnam War veteran John Rambo.

All he wanted to do was stop and settle in a small, rural town, but the local sheriff would have none of that. Rambo, the drifter, was arrested and booked for just wanting to have a hot meal somewhere. Thus, this is when the ordeal began. Rambo quickly escaped his captors as well as the police station and set forth a sequence of events, like a game of cat and mouse, whereas the authorities try to bring him back into custody.

After their initial attempt are unsuccessful they even try bringing in his former commanding officer, Colonel Trautman, to try and talk him in.

Stallone's portrayal of Rambo in First Blood shows real depth and emotion. Subsequent Rambo sequels show him as more of a huklish, strongman, badass, one man army, but First Blood shows his emotional scars come to the surface several times. You feel empathy for him and realize his actions were defensive and only used because of his intense training.

It's one of the great chase movies ever made.

We continue where we left off with Eve, Adam, and Lainey. This one is written more from Eve's perspective, which I greatly enjoyed, and we get to keep reading about Eve's new marriage to Adam and their sweet baby girl, Bella. Unfortunately, they don't stay happy-go-lucky for very long, as once again there's trouble afoot for Eve. It starts when some of her newly-acquired paintings go missing, and the ones that do make it to the gallery are forgeries! While trying to figure out this mystery, Eve gets pulled into yet another game of cat and mouse, one that she may not be able to win.

This is a great series, and the relationships are easy to identify with. Eve is in love with Adam, Lainey is in love with Jack, but Eve and Lainey both love each other. Now that it's been two years, we can see how they've changed, but we also get to go along with them as they try to cope with the feelings that still exist between them. How will they handle it while dealing with this new and dangerous conflict? You'll have to read that for yourself.

I received this book as one of the Smashbomb giveaways, and was really excited to read it!

I enjoyed the book and it was an easy read.
Unfortunately, I don't know if I've read, and watched, too many thriller type things, as the book felt a little too predictable. What would usually be subtle hints that eventually unfold, giving you those 'oh yeah!' moments, were just a bit obviously placed, and I could see where they were leading.

Like I've said, please don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the book but it was a bit flat for me, there never felt like there was any real urgency, or tension.
I really felt like there could have been a more cat and mouse dynamic between a few of the different characters, and the ending could have been given more time to build up.

I look forward to reading her next book, but hope she learns a few lessons; for one, fleshing the characters out, and giving them more depth.
However, it was a good first foray into the genre for the author, and I hope she can find her footings, as there were some really good ideas in this book.
