I read books 1 and 2 with an air of "hmmm, it's okay, but not really doing much for me.." I read it because Daemon amused me. Then I got to book 3.

At first, I felt pretty much the same.. it's an okay read, but nothing major.

Then I hit the final chapter

What the ever-loving fuck just happened?

For a heart-sinking moment I thought it was the last book of a trilogy... then I realised book 4 was waiting in the wings... holy mother of god... this series just got good.

This is an incredible book. It tells a sweeping epic that manages to be both about love and the history of modern day Afghanistan. Each chapter tells a different story, and yet everything is expertly connected into one overarching narrative. At times it is endearingly sweet and at others heart-wrenchingly sad. I had an incredibly difficult time putting this book down as I had to keep seeing where it would take me next and how it would all tie together. A remarkable achievement and a book I will always remember.

This book is a wonderfully written romp into a different world.
Dezaray ends up in a different world and takes over the life of someone who looked exactly like Dezaray. Unfortunately she doesn't know magic. The whole story is just one fun chapter after another.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy and different worlds.

The final chapter in their Peter Pan prequel trilogy is the best one yet. Just be sure you read the other two first because you'll pretty much be lost by everything that is happening here.

I only got through one chapter of this I did not enjoy it at all, I cant put my finger on why I instantly disliked it but I felt offended slightly by it and I have read more offensive things in books and did not dislike them but this just had a sort of feel to it and I hate not finishing a book and always try to finish a book i'm starting but this I just couldn't.

A fun trip back to the 80's. Ah, Memories of time spent in front of my Commodore 64. What a fun book to read. Reminiscing about the 1980's was the best part of this book. It was such a blast remembering things. Light and fluffy, this will be considered a quick read. Not sure why it took me so long to finish. Once I got into it ( around the 4th chapter or so), the rest flew by.

I really enjoyed this book. For me, the story started off a little slow but by the 5th or so chapter I was hooked and couldn't put it down without reading large chunks of it at a time. The football team added a great aspect to the overall story and I loved how the story ended, even if it meant the Blue Umbrella was put up for sale. So glad I won this book as a first reads winner!

A great coming of age story. Both serious and funny. The book is broken into two parts the first is about her upbringing and the difficulties of being seen as less than... The part two picks up in the same time that chapter one does and goes from there.
Although you're supposed to read this second as it is a prequel (to the Blue Sword) it is a good stand alone/read first book. I highly recommend.

This book was excellent! I was thrilled to win a copy through Goodreads just based on the jacket copy. Let me tell you, this book didn't disappoint! This is only the second of Scottoline's books that I've read but I am definitely a fan now.
I could not put this book down. I didn't figure out what was REALLY going on until the second to last chapter. And even then I was shocked! I thought things were over but they weren't...not by a long shot. This is the kind of book I love and it is worth your time to check out too.
