I don’t know about you, but I get this feeling after reading a great book, where I need to breathe out and have some free time before I pick up another book. I just need some time to digest what I just read, the same feeling I had after reading Final Girls. It is one of my favourite books this year and I think everybody should read it.
I was hooked from the first pages of this book, as it starts of Quincy’s escape from Pine Cottage. The main characters in this book were Quincy and Samantha (Sam). Two strong survivors of massive slaughter, but there is one small problem, Quincy can’t remember what happened that night.
All the characters in this book are really mysterious and very interesting. Most of the story was told from Quincy’s perspective, which made other characters more intriguing, because the only way to find out about them was through Quincy’s story. I needed to find out more about other characters, that’s why the pages just flew while looking for more information about them. Even though, for me, it was enough to hear the story from Quincy’s point of view, I would’ve loved to read the thoughts of other characters as well, at least at the end of the book.
The plot of this book was amazing to me. You cannot trust what you read, because as soon as you will start to believe in something, Author changes the flow of story, throwing in twist after twist and story changing turns, making this book very compelling and an absolute page turner. The narrative was changing between present and past, telling the true story of Quincy’s survival, and what happened that night in Pine Cottage. I really loved the topics author was discussing in this book, such as: pressure you get from media after surviving something horrible; mental illnesses and lifelong healing, where you can slip at any time; difficult family relationships.
The writing style of this novel was very smart, finishing every chapter with a cliff hanger, building curiosity and suspense, chapter after chapter. Add to this lovely and short chapters and a language, which was easy and pleasurable to read. The ending of the book was very nicely thought through and concluded the story really well for me. The characters and story are so awesome, that in the hands of skilled producer it could be an awesome film, and I really hope that this book will be transformed into one. It deserves it! So, to conclude, this book has a lot of interesting action going on, continuously playing with your mind and not letting you to believe in anything, throwing in twists and turns, making it a very fast paced, compelling page turner, and I think it is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ this year.

Revision is a Process is a well-thought out, easy-to-read, informative book, that gives plenty of examples and descriptions on just how you can tighten up a manuscript. There is plenty of knowledge within the pages, plus shortcuts that the author is happy to share. In bite-sized chunks, you could either read it in one go, or focus on the particular chapter that will help you currently. Personally, I found it very helpful, and will certainly be putting into practice some of the recommended routines.
I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is self-editing, and wants to know more about what they should do, and how they should do it.

This is a PARENTING book. If you don't want to read about that, you won't likely enjoy this book. However, if that's what you are looking for, like I was, hopefully you'll find is as fun and useful as I did.
There are some great ideas to have a close, happy, and relatively peaceful family life. They gave me plenty of things to try in the future. I enjoyed that each chapter had a question to prompt you to actively think about parenting and your life. I will be recommending this to others as well as buying a physical copy for those times I forget what I want to try. :-)

Joey and his friends are heading home from the skate park when an earthquake hits, separating them. Can they find each other and get home? What will they encounter along the way? Is their home still standing?
This is a good early chapter book. As such, I read through it quickly, although it will take the early elementary school target audience a little longer to get through. The characters were real and showed some growth, and the plot had a couple of scenes that made me turn pages quickly.

Flea is a street cat in Paris who lives by his wits all alone. Diva is a dog in a small apartment building who is afraid of everything. When their paths cross one day, they build a friendship. How might that change their lives?
This early chapter book is longer than normal for author Mo Willems, but it still holds all of his charm and bits of humor. The story is utterly charming for all ages, and the lessons about the power of friendship are great.

OW!! That last chapter killed my emotions so hard. Why?!?!?!?!
This book was amazing and had had me wondering why I didn't read it sooner. It has been on my shelf for almost two years now, but I haven't picked it up.
Richelle Mead did it again. She tore up my heart AGAIN with absolutely no remorse. Now, I have to wait until I can get the next book which won't be at least until tomorrow, maybe even the weekend.
After I finished this, I started pouting and I even knocked over my chair.
I just can't feel anything else today...
