Rachel King (13 KP) rated Hurry Less, Worry Less for Moms in Books
Feb 11, 2019
This is a short book with only 10 chapters and each chapter reads like a devotional. The chapters each begin with an "Encouraging Word," an "Everyday Step" and "A Mom's Thoughts," and ends with "Mom's Quiet Corner," which contains a summary of the chapter in the form of a "Busy Mom's Tip," "A Mom's Special Scripture," "Mom to Mom," and a "Prayer for the Journey." Peppered throughout each chapter are related verses and useful advice from the author and other anonymous mothers. Each chapter also encourages journaling with appropriate questions, plus the book ends with a Discussion Guide that is meant to be used in a group setting among other moms.
I enjoyed reading this book slowly, savoring the words and advice from so many other moms. With three daughters of my own, all under the age of five, I can use all of the tips on less hurry and worry I can get. I may even pass this book on to other moms who need the same kind of encouragement that I got from reading this lovely book.

I really enjoyed this book!! I liked how each chapter was a different person's story and I loved how we found out how they were all connected to each other. This was a true multi-generational novel. It was very well-written and each chapter told its own independent story. Would definitely recommend to others!!

MelanieTheresa (997 KP) rated Hollywood Girls Club (Hollywood Girls Club, #1) in Books
May 16, 2018
I was hooked from the name of the first chapter: "Celeste Solange and Her Fifteen-Thousand-Dollar Shoes." Each chapter is similarly named ("Lydia Albright and Her Alexandra Neel Pumps," "Jessica Caulfield and Her Balenciaga Sandals"), making me truly look forward to each new chapter so I could see who it would be about and what shoes they would be wearing. What a fun book this was. Can't wait to start Secrets of the Hollywood Girls Club next!

This story kept me turning pages! A YA romance/thriller I fall in love with the characters more and more with each chapter
Kityn (6 KP) rated Dead Ice (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #24) in Books
May 22, 2018
I am so bored with hearing about how much the men in Anita's life work out. I get it, they're shifters and buff. I don't need chapter upon chapter about their work outs. I'd give this more stars if half the book hadn't been fluff about working out. Not even sure why I keep reading this series anymore.
