This was another good read from E.L. James. I thought that it was well done. The book seemed to flow better than the last book and I found myself enjoying it more.

I think my favorite part of the books were the emails. They seemed to bring the characters to life. I think that this is a guilty pleasures book. I definitely did not read it for the writing styles.

Like I said previously with the first in the series, the characters are likable. I like the fact that the characters do have flaws. It makes it easy for the reader to relate to them.

I would have liked less sex. The reason I say that is that in each chapter there were at least two sex scenes. Sometimes less is more.

All in all, this book was enjoyable.

Lovable characters and a gripping plot. (0 more)
Laugh out loud read
Ben Aaronovitch has excelled himself in this novel. Having never read any urban fantasy books before, I was dubious about reading this book, which was purchased for me as a gift. Having picked up the book during a bored moment on holiday, I became hooked before the end of the first chapter.

PC Grant is a character with whom I could engage with from the start. A character who was likeable, but also not your typical hero. The story itself is very easy to follow and Aaronovitch does not overload the reader with complex characters, making the book a perfect easy read.

Aaronovitch uses humour appropriately throughout the book, keeping the reader engaged without being over silly. Once started, this book was not put down until after I had turned the last page.

I liked how the character's grew (0 more)
I enjoyed this book even though it went from past to present. Some books can make it difficult to keep on track but this was easy to keep up with.
I was hooked from the first chapter and there were so many twists and turns it kept me hooked.
The author really gave me an insight into each character and the journey they all went on growing up.
I felt so bad for the characters and what they had to go through especially with the twist at the end. It was heartbreaking but it felt good at the end. The characters opened up.
I think the audience for this book is twenties and over but no specific gender. It is for people who like a good twist and a good crime book.
