"He becomes obsessed with some Charlie Chaplin character that disappears in the 1930s, and then he gets a strange letter in the mail, and his life changes. I tried to get more people to read it. The first time I read it, I was like 18 or 19, and I loved it. I really like Paul Auster. He’s hit or miss, but I love his books. I read them even if they are shit and they go nowhere."

When PI Charlie Swift is saddled with a new partner, she does everything she can to get this new woman to quit the business. Meanwhile, she has to track down the missing mother of a baby. The book has an odd combination of humorous and serious, but it really works. I liked the characters and can't wait to visit them again.

It is ok.
I just don't get the gushing about this film. It's ok, just not much more than that. The stories don't develop much from their side stories. It's all a little flat and although you liked it, it could have reached the heights of Oliver, Charlie and the Chocolate Factoryet Al but won't be looked fondly back on in thirty years to come as those were

Letters of Note: Correspondence Deserving of a Wider Audience

"I read these out loud quite often. The letters are gathered from such a diverse range of people, from Steve Martin to Napoleon, and David Bowie to Mary, Queen of Scots—in this case on the night of her execution. There are love letters, letters of state, there’s a particularly funny one from a British ambassador to Moscow. They are tiny chinks of light into all these different lives, from Charlie Chaplin to Hitler. Each letter is reproduced as a facsimile of the original."

Brilliant series

This is a re-read for me! After finishing 13th Grave there was only ever one option and that was to start from the beginning! I can't really put into words how much I love this series. It's funny , witty with great characters. I love Charlie and her ways! Darynda Jones is just brilliant I have read this one a little slower than I originally did I wanted to go over everything I knew again and take it all in properly. Highly recommended.

I received this book for free from Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.

The book “When We Fall” by Emily Liebert is a definite page turner. While there are some flaws I give this book a 4/5 star rating. The main character, Allison Parker, 11 years prior to the story suddenly was faced with the death of her husband, and still 11 years later she is trying to pick up the pieces. Her husband, Jack, was in a bus accident that caused his untimely death which resulted in him never to meet his son Logan. Allison was left raise Logan alone as a single mom. Allison, an artist, put her career on hold me be the best mom she could be even though her life was fall apart around here. Prior to moving to Wincourt to have a fresh new start, Allison and Logan lived in New York. Wincourt is a suburb of New York. Allison found a house with a place where she could focus on her art career and Logan could attend a good school.

On Logan’s first day of school, Allison meets Charlotte who is Gia’s mom and Logan’s classmate. Come to find out the Charlotte is the wife and Gia the daughter of Charlie who was Jack’s best friend. Charlie and Jack worked and attended the same summer camp. Sadly, Charlie never called Allison after Jack died. Immediately, Charlotte and Allison became fast friends. They both were in need of a good friend so it was perfect timing, but then things get complicated and everything fell apart.

Allison and Charlotte became friends, good friends even. But Charlotte has a friend named Sabrina who tries to make everyone miserable. Sabrina told a lie to Charlotte that Allison and Charlie were having an affaire even though that was far from the truth. It caused a strain in Charlotte and Allison’s relationship, which left Allison utterly confused and Charlotte feeling hurt.

The relationships are well developed and true. It’s easy to identify with the characters of the story if you have ever been in a relationship or lost someone close to you. There is heartbreak but there is also hope. Hope that while relationships can have strains if you work things out there is hope that all things will work together. The minor characters bring an added level of trueness to the story.

Imagine a world where you could get back at those who had done you wrong. "An eye for an eye." In, Take One With You, Oak Anderson takes that ideal to a whole new extreme.

Charlie and Sarah had both suffered great loss. They had 'met' each other online in chat rooms dedicated to such things. They met several other people with the same suffering. One particular person, though, was an inspiration to them. She was courageous and brave.

Melissa Stevenson was tired and wanted to end her life. But there was someone else's life that had to end too. The person who made her life so horrible. Missy was going to take her life and take him with her.

From this inspiration, Charlie and Sarah created the TOWY website. People who were suicidal or terminally ill could take their own life and take the life of someone else as well. What a way to rid this earth of all the scum!

I really enjoyed this book. It's an original idea that is eerily realistic. The relationship between Charlie and Sarah is very intense. One part of this book, that was very different from any other book that I have ever read was the use of different media articles that talk about the effects the website is having on the world. I didn't like where they were placed in the book, but that was my own issue.

This is a great novel that will get you thinking. Are there really people out here who are already doing these things. Murder/suicide is a common practice. "If you die tomorrow...who would you kill tonight?"
Please read Take One With You!

In this fast passed action comedy, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are a young couple who live in the small town of Milton. Charlie Bronson (Dax Shepard) has a sordid past that prevents him from leaving the small town that he and his girlfriend live in. Charlie’s past includes a bank robber without a name (Bradley Cooper) and he is out to seek revenge against Charlie for testifying against him in an older bank robbery case.

After Annie gets a promotion outside of Milton in L.A., the couple end up heading on a road trip as Charley is determined to get her to her new job on time. Little does she know the road trip to her future may be the end of her relationship, a crazy adventure or a new beginning.

This movie is nothing short of hilarious. In my opinion Tom Arnold who plays Charlie’s protection makes this entire movie worth watching and that is saying something.

While I was not a fan of the cinematography used in this film , the humor makes up for it for sure. This film should not be missed especially if you like really fast cars.

A Romance Reader's Reviews

This was a recommendation on Goodreads after finishing Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda so when I saw it on Amazon today as a 99p deal, I just went and bought it. As a graphic novel, it's a quick read and I did find it very cute.

So Charlie is an openly gay young man in an English all-boys school. He's a really good runner and is invited by his form group seating partner, Nick, to join the rugby team as they are needing new players. The pair grow close as they spend time practising the game and talking in their form group and spend time around at each others houses. Charlie quickly falls for Nick but Nick's straight, right?

I did really like this. The storyline was engaging and I really felt for these two characters.

The artwork was a little strange at times but really detailed at others. I loved head on shots, the dog ♡, the trainers/converse near the end.

I would love to continue this at some point since it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.
