This move was profoundly bad. I don't know if there are any other words to it, it was horrendous. There were definitely some funny parts but it was more because Tiffany Haddish was making a fool of herself and less because the jokes were actually funny.

I know that Tyler Perry is revolutionary and whatever, but the more of his movies you watch, the more it's just blatantly obvious how much they are all the same. I love that he writes and produces and directs, I think that's great, but when all his characters are the same, especially his women, it just gets tiresome. This idea that Missi Pyle's character is supposed to be this hardworking, self-made, independent woman who does everything a man does when she's trying to decide between Charlie and Frank, it just felt fake, and it made her so unlikeable and unrelatable. I don't know a single woman who would play those men the way that she did. And Amber Riley's character? She was a horrible friend. If I saw my friend acting the way Danica was, I would tell her to get it together and stop being so rude to Frank.

I think the best performance in this movie was Mechad Brooks - I think he was funny and his jokes landed. But other than that, it was just bad. That cameo from Chris Rock too? Unnecessary. The plot was just incoherent, the acting was bad, the character development was bad, it was all bad.

"I started playing flute when I was about six or seven and I transferred to saxophone when I was 14. It was mostly just playing trad jazz in the school jazz band and so I'd actually played a lot of jazz, because I was classically trained too, so I'd read a lot of jazz solos. But I hadn't really heard much modern jazz. I started listening to Miles Davis and Charlie Parker at the same time as I started listening to The Velvet Underground and Led Zeppelin. I was completely obsessed with jazz for so many years. That was all I listened to. John Coltrane and Miles Davis were like my bread and butter for so long. But obviously, where there's John Coltrane, there's Wayne Shorter, there's Archie Shepp, Joe Henderson, all these other people, and the same with Miles Davis. Miles Davis I've taken such inspiration from because he's someone that says: you've got to change, you've got to adapt to survive. You can't just stay doing what you're doing, you've got to try and engage with the zeitgeist. He was unique in the jazz world really. The people that came after him, that he brought up musically, if you like - Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Weather Report, Chick Corea - obviously they were very much engaged in the music of the time but Miles was so fearless and iconic, not just as a musician but as a figure in his society. To be young, angry and black was such a unique thing. He was absolutely amazing. I've got so much respect for him."

If you asked anyone to name actor Sylvester Stallone's two most famous roles, they would probably give you (in order):

1: Rocky Balboa
2: John Rambo.

While the Rocky films have been having something of a renaissance of sorts ever since 2006's Rocky Balboa (and the Creed films), Rambo has been left on the sidelines somewhat - perhaps as a result of the increasingly cartoony (and violent) films ever since the 1982 original.

I haven't seen all the Rocky films - I gave up partway through Rocky III, before having to force myself to sit through Rocky Balboa and the first Creed film - but I have seen all the Rambo films.

There's still no doubt that the original Rambo film is far and away the best: indeed, I would strugglt to remember much of the plots of part II (other than there's a fight scene heavily ripped off in Charlie Sheen's 'Hot Shots: Part Deux'), or even part III (starting with Rambo helping to build a temple in Vietnam) or 2008's 'Rambo' (which ends with Rambo coming home as the credits roll)

This one picks up from the end of that film, with Rambo now running the horse ranch that belonged to his family, and with the plot kicking into drive when the daughter of a friend runs away to Mexico in search of her absentee father, and is promptly kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel.

Cue an extraordinarily violent last act when, for reasons, members of that cartel decide to attack Rambo on his home turf ...
