The final part of Veronica Roth's 'Divergent' series, this takes a different path than the previous two in that it is not solely told from Tris's point of view, but that it alternates between hers and Tobias's.

As this starts, the Factionless are now control of the city, leading Tris to think that they have simply moved from one tyranny to another. When offered the chance to explore what lies beyond the city - offered that chance, that is, by rebels since the new rulers don't want anyone leaving - Tris, Tobias and a group of others seize the opportunity to do so.

What they discover outside, however, is a world obsessed with eugenics, of which her home city of Chicago is simply an experiment: an experiment in danger of being shut down.

As a trilogy, and over-all: I have to say that, while the first entry ([b:Divergent|13335037|Divergent (Divergent, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328559506s/13335037.jpg|13155899]) did remind me quite a bit of The Hunger Games, as the series went on this seemed to get more and more its own identity. It also ended about the only way it could!

Better Off Barefoot is a duo based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, they released a charming indie-pop tune, entitled, “When I Wake”.

“Hope you go to sleep now. I let myself fall away. I hear what you’re saying. How did I let you stay? I’m not holding back now. Let go of my old ways. Let go of my troubles knowing we’ll be okay.” – lyrics

‘When I Wake’ tells an interesting tale of a young woman who is optimistic about the future.

The likable tune contains a relatable storyline, soft vocals, and mellow instrumentation flavored with alternative and indie elements.

“‘When I Wake’ is about the process of finding your peace in all the chaos. Learning to let go, bouncing back, and in a new light moving into who you want to be.” – Better Off Barefoot

Better Off Barefoot met in Chicago three years ago. Since then, they’ve been making music together and perfecting their sound.

Bradley produces the music and Elle sings and writes the songs. They describe their music as a mixture of pop, indie, and electronic music.

HEART BANDIT is the first book in the Gargoyle Night Guardians series, and we start off with Beaumont, who has been a Gargoyle for over 800 years. We find a new world of evil fae, the Critch, dubious souls, and an unwillingness to give in. Sadie does what she has to, to survive and plan for her longterm goal of getting her GED. If this includes pickpocketing, then so be it. However, all things change when she takes Beaumont's spark stone.

Rosalie Redd has created a world of interest, with strong alpha males and feisty females to keep them on their toes. There is no "insta-bond" between our two main characters, just good, old-fashioned lust and interest. There are plenty more characters I can't wait to hear about, not limited to Drake, the leader of the Chicago Gargoyles who you don't actually see much of.

The world-building is wonderful, the characters come alive, and the pacing is smooth. All in all, this has been a great read and I can't wait to continue with the series. After all, I'm really hoping for Drake!

This has been borrowed from the Kindle Unlimited library.

This starts from where the last one left off. Leda is now an angel. Pandora, The Angel of Chaos. She is given her own territory but things never run smooth for Leda. There's a plague of issues attacking the New York City office of the Legion, making its members turn on each other and causing mayhem that eventually starts to travel further afield to the Chicago office and beyond. Initially suspecting demons, Leda and the team try to find the cause but there's nothing that stands out. Then Nerissa, the Legion doctor figures it out, taking everyone by surprise.

I don't want to spoil it by going into too much detail, you'll have to read it to see what else happens in this one.

I do enjoy reading this cast of characters. I love Leda and Nero. I've been cheering them on from their first meeting in book 1, so to see them so happy makes me want to squeal in excitement. They are the perfect bad-arse angel couple.

I cannot wait to read more of this series and this couple.
