Lindsay (1760 KP) rated Think Big (The Live Big Series #3) in Books
Jul 31, 2020
I love the way the pictures can tell a story. Think Big is adorable. It tells a story of helping each other out and along with believing in yourself. The way this story is told is just unique to anything I have seen in a children's book.
Children will love it. The big words around the page will have little one say them. I loved that it a fun way for some children to repeat them. The animals are relatable. I enjoyed the story. Each animal and living thing has to find their way to see how are the best that they can be.
Kat Kronenberg can does this though the animals need to learn to work together and help to survive. Will they do it. Will their hearts and minds connect and they Think Big to get what they need to grow and be the best they can be?
Parents and Grandparents will love reading this to their children and grandchildren. It makes me want to read and reread the book myself if I had children. It is adorable and cute. I hope to pick up the first to books of this series.

Lindsay (1760 KP) rated The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel in Books
Dec 14, 2021
Are you looking for another good faith-based book for your child or children around Christmas? Well, The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel will not disappoint. It is sweet as the cubs wait for snow and then get it. They head outside and play in it. They start to wonder what kind of snowman to create.
Children will enjoy this and want to reread it as they continue to be well. This one is a bit different from your typical building of a snowman. Mama and Papa help teach the cubs about their chosen snowman once they have built it.
Children will learn about the Christmas angel named Gabriel. I love how the cubs help each other and bounce off ideas. Their littlest one helps by just being herself. She gives them the idea when she does this.
This book is another classic book for any favorite fans of the Berenstain Bears. These books stand more based on faith and teaching of the Bible so children can learn it. I love these books the best. The author does a beautiful job with this book.

Lindsay (1760 KP) rated The Song of Sourwood Mountain in Books
May 16, 2025
The Song of Sourwood Mountain is really good. I was captured by a woman named Mira, and I felt transported back to this little town in Eastern Kentucky. However, we saw she ran into a young man with whom she had gone to school as a boy. His name is Gordon.
We see it mostly through Mira's eyes but also through Gordon's, who happens to be a preacher for the Sourwood children. This little village and the folks who live in Sourwood are the best part.
The children of Sourwood are really sweet and loving. We meet a few of the children, but it seems that we also get a new story about a little girl and how she is feeling. Will this little girl get the family she always wanted? Will Mira be a good teacher and wife to Gordon? Will Mira learn to trust, love, and lean on the Lord? Maybe she will do her Lord's calling.
Can they bring education and reading to children? Will the folks welcome a new teacher and preacher's wife? Will Mira fit in and find a sense of community and family?

Nicole Hadley (380 KP) rated Fight to Learn: The Struggle to Go to School in Books
Jun 18, 2018
Fight to Learn by Laura Scandiffio brings interest and excitement to going to school. While most people have heard of Malala, they may not have heard of all of the great people in Scandiffio's book: people helping to change education for poverty-stricken Indians and Roma, Pakistanis denied an education because of their gender, children ripped away from schools becoming soldiers, and separate, but not equal, schools on First Nation land.
Liked that the book was divided into different challenges children face rather than by geography. It even included an example in the U.S. I also liked that the book highlighted the people, many of whom are children, who are finding solutions to this issue.
A fantastic resource for older students.
I received an ARC copy from Annick Press via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
